So with Nuno now installed and busy fumigating the managers office (Mason had a flatulence problem, apparently) and the new DoF busy trying to avoid eye contact with Levy in the canteen and pretending to be on his phone, we can look forward to another season of, well? not sure really? anything could happen at the Tottenham Hotspur Comedy Club.
But what would like to see happen.
Some players need to go.
Some players are hanging on but its probably their last chance
Some might go if we get a decent offer.
The back 4/5 needs a shake up
We need to see some investment.
What are you reasonable expectations as to what needs to happen, what will happen, how much we will spend and what we should be aiming for?

If Leicester can win the title so can Spurs. I would have been more confident with Mourinho still at the helm as he is a winner, but he was too good for us in the end. But we have a new director of football and a brilliant new manager backed and signed off by the chairman. The sky is the limit.

Why don't they then?

For me, there are four things which I would like to see in the upcoming season which would demonstrate good progress, in no particular order:
1. A recogniseable style of play. I want to be able to tell that the players are being drilled in training as to what they need to be doing in game situations. Pressing triggers, defensive shape etc.
2. A great improvement in the goals conceded column. Gone are the days where we used to be a watertight defensive machine. We conceded 45 goals in 38 games last season, a ridiculous number. Keep Kane, or replace him with whoever you want, if we keep conceding this amount of goals, we won't get anywhere.
3. Giving playing time to our young talent, in all competitions. Skipp (if he doesn't go out on loan), Sessegnon, Reguilon, Tanganga, Rodon, Bergwijn et al all have the ability to improve if given time.
4. A top 6 finish. Not many of us seem to acknowledge that in every season since 16/17, yes, every single season, we have finished below the previous season:
16/17 - 2nd
17/18 - 3rd
18/19 - 4th
19/20 - 6th
20/21 - 7th
So it would be nice to arrest that slide, because if it continues its current trend, we'll be starting the 2030/31 EFL Championship season away to Preston North End!

Very reasonable Spursboy!
I hope the fans are patient at the start of next season. The tendency to boo after any sort of adverse performance or result will not help.
I remember Poch's first season. Think we shipped 55 goals. There were signs of things changing but it was not great to watch but we came good in the end.
Nuno needs some time and patience for sure.

Our fans keep undermining the club and backing the wrong managers.
