See this a lot with regards to certain players, most recently Lukaku.
Always wondered who would be a player who had great records against the big teams?
For me it's a given that the bigger the team the bigger the plan against certain players. Simply targeting a player and sticking a man or extra man on him to nullify him is a tactic I've seen many a time. So is it any wonder some players records will be slightly miserable compared to over all?

David Mcgoldrick only scores against the big 6.

Callum Robinson. Think he’s scored 5 or 6 against Chelsea in the past 2 seasons and only 1 in all games against other opposition

Mark Hughes for us. Not a great goalscorer but a scorer of great goals. I don't care if he's turned into a miserable sod after leaving United. He's still a hero to me. I actually didn't mind him giving Fergie a bit back either. Shows he's a winner and I'm sure SAF would have respected that too.

Torres scored 4 goals against United in his 8 year spell with Chelsea and Liverpool, hardly a 'few' is it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The theory that he always had Vidic on toast and was a thorn in United’s side is a bit of a myth.
I’d bet he was nullified by Vidic and United far more than he actually produced against us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldve thought 4 was exactly the definition of a few myself. Im sorry but there is no way he played 15 times against utd for us. He was only with us 3 and a half years and we never met in europe.
Off the top of my head he scored at old trafford twice and at anfield. So thats 3 games out of a maximum of 7 against utd for liverpool in the league. I have no idea if he missed any of them 7 through injury as I cant be bothered to look.
Ive never claimed torres always had vidic on toast. I had no interest in starting some utd v liverpool nonesense deabte. I claimed torres more often than not produced the goods when it mattered.

Jimenez has 11 goals against the big six. 6 or 7 of those in the last ten minutes when it really matters

Hopefully he gets back to the same level.

Our season hopes probably hinge on it. Signs are good though, just hope the psychological scars are slight.

If you want a big-game player, look no further than John O'Shea.
Massive grudge game at Highbury against the previous season's Invincibles? Comes on to clinch victory with a delectable chip.
Struggling at Anfield when going for the title? Scores a last-minute winner in front of the Kop.
Champions League semi-final against Arsenal? Scores the only goal in the first leg, giving United a great platform for the away game.
John O'Shea: full-back, midfield maestro, goalkeeper, nutmegger of Figo and big-game player
