Manchester United are progressing in direct contacts to sign Eduardo Camavinga. 🔴 #MUFC
Rennes would be open to negotiate on potential €30m fee - as they’d lose Camavinga for free next summer. 🇫🇷
He’s one of Man Utd long term targets - PSG have always been interested too.
----------------------------------------------------------
Looks like Fabrizio gonna run with this now that Sancho is out. If this €30m quote is true, this is a bargain for what he can bring to the table. Get it done Woody!

I’d love to think signing Sancho gives us an advantage when Haaland and Bellingham consider their next moves.
What a fabulous bit of business the Sancho deal would would be if this were the case.

I can't imagine we are about to drop £30m on a young squad player when we need a CB and DM
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, Fabrizio is an incredibly reliable source, if he says it, it's 99% something that's happening.
Secondly, we were happy to spend £25m on a 17-year old Bellingham with even less professional appearances.
Clearly a young, super talented CM is part of the clubs plans

Romano seems to run with existing stories / rumour. How often has he been the first to report interest between club and player before a deal is done / being widely reported elsewhere?
As for Bellingham, I suspect he would have been loaned either back to Birmingham or elsewhere for a season or 2 had we got him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree Romano often confirms other people’s news but he always seems to know what is real and what is hot air.
If he is confirming another journalists story you can be sure there is something in it.
He does break stuff first some times to be fair.

His age is particularly helpful though in that it buys us some time to work him into the team. He isn't such an obvious starter that it presents an immediate dilemma. If we sign him then I will lean towards the idea we've come to terms with losing Pogba. He's the sort of talent though that you snap up if you can. In the Bellingham category of potential and he's made something stupid like almost 100 aplearenves already. Excellent training for a young lad, competing against grown men in a legit league.
-------------------------------------------
The problem is this squad is lacking in players who we can rely on week in week out, especially in central midfield.
We should be focusing on signing more players who not only have the quality but are closer to their peak, around the 23-27 age group.
It's hard to see this team taking the next step without bringing in an established and higher calibre central midfielder and one who's more ball dominant.

Yeah I'd agree, I just think the price is too good to pass up on, if we can help it. There aren't a whole host of obvious players available to come in and significantly upgrade us and if we spend over £100 million on Sancho and Varane then the cost of this deal is probably more on the money. Can't see who we could get for that amount that is even close in terms of talent and potential or is ready to just slot straight in.
Saul seems a clear option to me but we don't seem to be pursuing him and that coupled with how ready Atletico seem to be to let him go leads me to think that there's a good chance I just don't have the depth of knowledge and the clubs know something I don't. Which isn't a surprise, they'll have tracked and monitored him far, far more than I have.

I've not seen him play recently but is Pjanic still a decent player? Talk of Barca releasing him. Would he be worth a punt as a more experienced player?

Didn’t play that much last season. Not sure if it was injury or something else. Quality player at his best but probably not what we need.

If the price is that low then yes it'd be tough to ignore.
There are some good options out there if we're willing to look who I don't think would cost a huge amount. The same person who says Camavinga is available for €30 million has said Locatelli is available for €40 million and I don't think Bruno Guimaraes would cost too much more than that if it all. Brozovic has only a year left on his contract with Inter so would probably come reasonably cheap too.
If there's one Atletico midfielder I'd like it's Marcos Llorente but he's got a huge release clause unfortunately. It was reported we looked at him last January when we got Bruno. This was before he exploded in a more advanced role for Atleti. It's a shame we didn't make a move for him back then.

Mentality, experience... Often consistency, tactical awareness, decision making, game reading
For the price mentioned the move is a no brainer imo... But TRS has a valid point... We really need a leader in the middle

United would be a good stepping stone for the lad, at this stage of his career.
