It'll be funny looking at the queues for Charging points unless the Government is planning on everyone living in a house with a drive by 2030.

Electric cars are for those who wear skinny jeans and fruitcakes.
I will continue to buy large petrol-guzzling SUVs and trucks and contribute to global warming.
As long as those vehicles are available, petrol will continue to be sold.

I think you should read and try to understand your links.
And then work out when five years from now is.

In five years electric vehicles will outsell petrol.
They will need to get more fans on board to sustain their level of spending, by which time Foden will have his own statue and the statues will outnumber the fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or we need our owners to have diversified and maybe invested in electric car manufacturers like Telsa too...
Oh wait

On another note, manufacturing a midsized electric vehicle (EV) with an 84-mile range results in about 15 per cent more emissions than manufacturing an equivalent gasoline vehicle. For larger, longer-range EVs that travel more than 250 miles per charge, the manufacturing emissions can be as much as 68 per cent higher.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
electric cars have a greater emission during manufacturing. They are cleaner at tailpipe emission and over time lead to better air quality

This isn’t a problem provided that:
a) We don’t run EVs like we’ve been running petrol and diesel vehicles in the western world this last decade or so. It isn’t unusual for cars to need to run 100,000km or more before their tailpipe emissions meet their pre-sale (mainly manufacturing) emissions. We need to be running all cars (including petrol vehicles) absolutely into the ground, rather than changing and scrapping them with the current frequency.
b) There is *far* greater public and private investment in renewable energy. There’s no point replacing petrol vehicles with EVs if we’re going to charge them using electricity generated by burning coal, oil and gas.

Can United afford to fix the leaking roofs at Old Trafford, that seems like a more important question
