Why do we need players who are excellent on the half term from deep in midfield, when we never, ever play through that channel?

Our deep lying midfielders will spend most of the game behind the ball, facing play, as they have done all tournament. Goalkeeper distribution will go to the CB's, wingers or full backs (as it has all tournament) and CB distribution will go sides way or down the line (as it has all tournament). Both of course with the odd punt up to Harry Kane.
