Ok so moving on from England to an Arsenal POV, how do we go about making sure Saka isn't psychologically affected by this going into the next season?
I'm sure he's as tough as nails and can handle it, but don't have much confidence in Arteta's man management of the situation.
Thoughts?

Yeah because Sancho & Rashford showed they are more capable than Saka at dealing with pressure this tournament, that's why they were continuously picked ahead of him whilst he was left on the bench every game and why they both scored their pressure-penalties...
🙄
Saka was poor when he came on last night because he's not a player you bring off the bench for impact, he's better than that and we saw that for England when he started the other games.
Absolute stupidity not to have him running at the Italian defence for 90 minutes. Mount did fak all for the whole tournament and again last night was poor, can't believe how long he stayed on for.

As well as his performances and being popular with fans he's now stolen the hearts of all the wives and mum's. Loads of them already loved him because of the baby face and dimples, seeing him inconsolable on national TV has taken care of the rest. All I've heard from women all day is "Aaaw I just wanted to give him a hug." Fans all over the country will be for the high jump with the missus or getting smacked up the head by mum if they say anything bad about that kid in her presence
I think the fans will lay of him generally and focus more on Rashford and Sancho. But I agree with the OP re the Arteta factor. I can see him being a complete to Saka if he isn't straight back on point starting next season. He won't rest him to start the season and he won't show any patience if Saka's confidence is low, he'll be the same hard nosed git he's been his whole time at the club and make things worse not better for the youngster. We just have to hope the older players can look after him because the manager damned sure isn't going to.

I thought saka did ok when he came on, no worse than any other player, he didn’t strike me as someone who was struggling with the pressure more than any other player. England showed pretty much no interest or ability to retain the ball and attack Italy at that point, saka best attributes aren’t going to shine with the team playing like that. Now his pen perhaps showed that lack of experience and being under pressure, it certainly wasn’t the best hit pen you’ll see, but it’s far from the worse, he’s unlucky the GK went the right way, I’ve seen loads of more experienced players miss worse pens. They’re a bit of a gamble for any player.
Think Southgate inexperience probably showed as manager, I think saka should start then bring him off for more experience to see out the game. And while I’m sure saka was showing confidence to take a pen, maybe Southgate should have said yes you take one but someone more experienced takes the 5th. It’s all ifs and buts though because we don’t know what went on, and looking at the players left to take pens hardly any of them take penalties, best was Sterling and he’s missed 3 out of 5. Past that it was Grealish who’s took like one pen. So if saka was most confident, then you can see why you may trust him over the others.
I think saka will be fine. No one other than Arsenal fans thought him capable of even making the squad, let alone playing a big part in the team that went all the way to the final. Think he’s proved to a lot of people how good he is, and he should be immensely proud of himself this tournament. I think that lack of expectation on him before tournament will mean he won’t be remembered for missing the penalty, more for youngster who announced his ability to the country

Certainly surprised me. Don’t doubt his quality and I knew if he was called upon he’d do a good job. I highly rate him.
I didn’t think he’d make the squad but when he did, I thought well he won’t get any minutes bar maybe vs Czech if we have already qualified
The fact he started vs Germany and Denmark took me by surprise and he’s excelled. I don’t think Southgate was planning to play him much but he earned the managers trust vs Czech.
I’d say before this tournament only us Arsenal fans knew his qualities. He’s been the breakout star and his emergence has surprised many non Arsenal fans.
He is rated outside of Arsenal now and if he can build on this tournament then he will be one of the stars of the future for club and country

That was a direct response to the concern stated in and by the OP. And no I won't pretend Arteta's anything but bad for Arsenal for 1 game let alone 6.
I don't think you quite get it here, despite his last seasons performance alone 100% warranting he be sacked anyway, my issue with Arteta goes well beyond them and league placing. I believe he wants change AFC in a NEGATIVE WAY taking it's philosophy backwards 30 years. He's trying to rebrand Arsenal in a SH !T footballing image and pssg all over everything the PL Arsenal stood for. I don't want to see Arsenal teams playing football the way Mikel Arteta wishes to, it's crap. I DON'T CARE IF HE CAN WIN 38 GAMES 1-0 playing his way. It's soul-crushingly boring watching us play and sorry but...
THAT IS NOT PL ARSENAL!
I seriously don't get why you're so far up Arteta's ass or so desperate for us to become the most defensive and boring team the PL has ever seen but tell you what, I'll make ya a deal. When Arteta gets this team playing fast flowing, ATTACKING, skill based football again, then I'll stop with the Arteta out sentiment and messaging. I think that's perfectly fair don't you?

Playing more defensively is one thing flat out refusing to attack with any risk and killing all entertaining football to scrape through games attempting to "snatch a 1-0 somewhere and sit on it." Is something completely different. Personally I would rather they played entertaining football and only qualified for CL than played Arteta's travesty of a game and won 38 of 38 1-0. Watching Artetaball last season was pure life sucking boredom.
As far as I am concerned Artetaball is devolving the club not evolving it. No Arsenal fan should be saying they're happy to see us go backwards 30 years and become the mostr boring ever winners of the PL. And I still say, feck probation, he got 18 months of it already, he's a failure and fans need to yell for his head all game, every game until they sack his ass. Every game he manages now is just allowing him to do more damage than he has already. Arteta's rot has gone on too long already.
