I know we've had a lot of articles about him recently, with good cause.
Just wanted to share this moment in case you didn't notice it during the actual game:

Also shown that he kissed his runners up medal and alongside Henderson stayed to watch Italy lift the trophy. He's had a phenomenal tournament - got into the Guardian and Goal Italia teams of the tournament - but his attitude on and off the pitch is just top class.
Kalvin Phillips - what a man

For those who are not Leeds fans, let me say that Kalvin is a very grounded young man. The link below is an interview he did with Ian Wright about growing up in Leeds with his family.

He's proved me wrong a fair bit.
I still don't think he is the most gifted passer of a ball but he has an incredible engine and attitude. I also think he can get better.
He's had a meteoric rise in the past few seasons and next season is an important one for him. Looks to be under the right managers to keep improving under for club and country.

I loved his style since I saw him in the championship.
Good attitude and a humble guy.

Kalvin Phillips - What a Man
Yes certainly not going to argue with that.
Think I will start spelling class with a K!

There's a big difference between the Kal we saw playing for England and the true KP, his position for Leeds is much more the position Rice plays for England, Rice plays the deeper role for England because he doesn't have the ability to play the position Kalvin plays a bit further forward.
Equally Henderson cannot play the deeper role.
It is obvious but that is why Southgate always took Rice off instead of Kalvin.
KP has a great range of passing, we see it week in/week out at Elland Road the boss needs to set the team up to benefit from his passing it's as simple as that.

I'll be honest, pre tournament i was of the opinion that he shouldn't be in the squad. How wrong was I!
One of our best players at the Euro's and arguably one of the best player at the tournament as a whole. One of the first names on the team sheet now.
Do you worry about keeping hold of him now? I've seen he has been linked with Man Utd and Liverpool.

Also seems a top fella and proper likeable.

Got a daft haircut when he has it tied up when playing, but he was class on and off the pitch. The fact him and Hendo stayed to watch Italy lift the trophy was great sportsmanship. Comes out of the euros with a lot of credit.

He's been great. Not unexpectedly, though.

Personally I felt Phillips only came into his own when rice came off in both semi and final. For all his ever dependable work rate and defensive work, I felt when we had the ball the games were largely passing him by.
I’ve become a very big fan of him as a player, but personally I would have played him or rice, who I also rate, and someone else where kp played.
Appreciate that was a popular view before the tournament and not a popular one now, but that’s still my take.
