No European football so less games than everyone else and with the right signings there is no reason why top four can't be achieved the teams that made top 4 bar City were all pretty average.

Results in the Champions League now count towards your PL point total?
The CL winners only finished 6 points above the awful Arsenal team, so I would call that a very average performance.

The same champions league winners that lost at home to the likes of West Brom also lost at home to us for the first time in however long and we are supposed to be bad. Surely you get that the league is totally different from a knockout competition?

5th. Need one of City, United, Liverpool or Chelsea to have a poor season to finish any higher.

40 points to avoid relegation, anything else is cherry on top.

In terms of the table finish, realistically I'd be happy with top 6. The top 4 seem so far ahead of us now that demanding to finish ahead of City/Lpool/United/Chelsea given the seasons they've had and the squads + managers at their dispoals seems ludicrous.

However my focus is more on the performance of the team as a whole (we need to play fast, fluid, dynamic football), and on individuals players to step up (Auba and to a lesser extent Laca).

If we sign a top class Partner for Partey (ie Locatelli or Bissouma - I'd be disappointed with Ruben Neves), and Maddison then we should be knocking on top 4's door given we have no European football this season.

I wanna see us put up a proper fight for top 4 and play exciting football with players who look like they care.

We've a young squad so if we don't get top 4 straight away I won't see it as a disaster, but we need to be knocking on the door and looking good while doing so.

What the season SHOULD be:

A runaway PL 1st place by virtue of having no midweek fixtures along with the title challengers.


What the season WILL be:

Continuous BOREDOM, FAILURE, MISERY and SHAME! It will not end until Arteta's time at Arsenal does.
