The proof will be in the pudding, until we see any new players in action, we will not know if this bloke is Baldini mk2 or not

So far he has signed a goalkeeper on loan and hired his mates mate as our boss after a farcical recruitment process.

The judgement will be, not who he signs and for how much, but how they perform. I tend to agree though that penny pinching on a player you're absolutely certain will be a success is just crazy. Why risk losing out on a player to save a couple of mill when he's considered nailed on for success and therefore a greater sell on value?!
There's only one certainty we can get from the current transfer dealings - Kane is 100% leaving this summer. Conte didn't want to join us because he was told there wasn't the money in place to spend in the way he needs to. Money spent would have to come from player sales. So far we're pretty much nailed on for Bryan Gil at £22 mill (plus Lamela), the Japanese fella for £18m and, according to reports, Cristian Romero for around £40m. That's all without even considering the rumours around Ings, Kounde and many others. Now I know he likes to negotiate with loads of players at once but a lot of them are different positions. It seems to me that our spending will far exceed £100m and we just aren't getting that kind of money from other players in the squad, certainly not the ones we want to sell that's for sure.
This all feels very Bale 2013 when we spent big and then sold our biggest asset.

Can't say I've been too impressed so far with the farcical manager search and just being linked to players from Serie A. But we'll see how we get on when the new players come in. Handling Kane leaving could be another huge test for him if that happens.
As always with Spurs though you're left with the constant feeling these guys are just puppets to Levy.

As long as it's not 100% Italy based then I think it's okay that he's looking closely at the league he knows best. Bryan Gil and Kounde both play in Spain so he's not shut off to other options.
He was based in Italy for the last 10 years so he's likely to find more players he's certain on in those leagues. All of the players we've been linked with in Serie A have been defensive which I have no problem with. We saw how amazing they are at the art of defending over there during the Euros so drinking from that cup is no bad thing.

I think Kounde already said NO because of Levy.
