The Athletic are reporting that PSG have made contact with Pogba regarding a possible move either this summer or next. I believe that they are a pretty reputable source?
In addition, Eurosport are saying that we are expecting PSG to make a bid and are holding out for £45m.
If he isn't going to sign a new contract, then I'd be more than happy to take £45m this summer. Hopefully we get him out of the door quickly (if he is to leave) to give us time to reinvest in a replacement.
We certainly seem to be getting our business done quicker this summer and Ole commented last night on how happy he is that this has been the case. The combination of Fletcher and Murtough seems to be working well so far when it comes to identifying targets and getting the deals done. Long may it continue.

It's been a great transfer window this time, as far as you can judge a transfer window without the players you've bought playing any games.
I also don't think the length of time you've spent chasing a player negates the achievement of finally signing him, that's a new one to the world of football discussion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It does a bit if you're judging the new recruitment setup. The negotiations started before the changes lin hierarchy. We need more samples to judge the new setup—that's what I'm saying.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So the fact that we've landed the two top targets, and landed them quickly is in no way a reflection of good business because we'd enquired about one of them last year and the other one had a year left on his contract?
That's a reach that's looking for the most negative interpretation you can think of. As usual.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, you really are brilliant at misunderstanding.
The deals are fantastic, but I mentioned 'new recruitment setup' as my context. Is this new setup a success? Too early to tell.

Which was a response to your initial drop of misery on this thread.
No misunderstanding.

It wasn't misery, it was analysis of structure change.
So are you Glazers in now they've delivered these changes?

😄 are you for real?
All this discussion about their structure change with Murthough and Fletcher, and how it has delivered a better window, and you ask me that.

The discussion I was having was the clubs done well in securing the top two targets so early, which differed from yours, which was it was nothing special as we enquired about Sancho last year and Varane had a year left on his contract.
I've never mentioned structural changes. Go check - the chain of comments is right there to see.

No, you didn't, I did.
And that was the context of my comments.
You're talking about the club, I'm talking about the new recruitment team.

This is painful. It’s quite obvious the point of contention was your question about us being better at transfers this summer.
Nobody is arguing that the changes in structure are a success, Elvis clearly states that it seems to be working well so far, and long may that continue.
There’s no declarative statements or implied arguments as to how successful they are going to be, it’s obvious the comment is on the work done so far - of which you’ve questioned the validity of that claim. Which is what people are arguing with you about.

I was interested to see what level the post rationalisation would reach.

Yes, I did question whether we have been better than before so far this summer.
But I never said it wasn't good work bringing them in.
No need for anyone to make a fuss.
