If lukaku gets done you'd imagine he'd be starting most games which basically leaves 2 attacking spots for 6 players. How on earth does tuchel keep werner, havertz, mount, pulisic, CHO and ziyech all happy competing for 2 spots? A switch to a 4231 would probably help to give more game time but I can't see it, he seems pretty set on 5 at the back. Be very interesting to see who consistently gets the nod.

I’m surprised you’re in for Lukaku. I’d have thought Werner might have been given another chance. From what I saw last season he gets into great goal scoring position and if he hits form early in Aug/Sep I don’t see why he can’t be a 25 goal striker for you.
Lukaku doesn’t seem to fit the mould of what Tuchel is building at your club. No doubt he will do his usual flat track bullying job very well like he has at Inter, but is that what you lot need right?

I think your pursuit of Haaland struck genuine fear into the hearts of your rivals, whereas I’d actually be quite relieved to see you blow that cash on Lukaku (having said that, it’s not like you’ll be penny picking thereafter!).
I am still totally unconvinced by Lukaku as an elite level striker, however, he will be determined to prove that it was the set up / environment / manager at United, as opposed to his own misgivings, so may smash it for you.
I think he’ll hit the ground running but then fizzle out - similar to his time here, I guess - but will be interesting to watch!

United fans seem to put a lot of stock into one bad year defining everything about him. In Mourinho meltdown year too, where we know better than anyone all bets are off/Hazard was a waste of space that season.
He's pretty much exactly what we need. We're overpaying for him considering his age, but quite frankly if he doesn't work out then we may as well stop buying strikers cos we're clearly cursed .... we know how to grind out results against anyone, what we need is a flat track bully to sweep up the banana skins.

Wouldn't CHO and possibly even Pulisic simply becoming full time wingbacks?

Utd fans have a lot to say about Lukaku to Chelsea I've noticed

He improved a sh!t ton at Inter, scored quite a few vs. title rivals too. That Lukaku is pretty much the complete forward now, fact he was quiet in Belgium's Q/F at the Euros was actually kinda surprising.
This move, if it happens, will be his ultimate acid test for him & his legacy. In his prime, we're his club - and (bold prediction) I think he'd kill it

No it wasn’t.

Lukakuis the missing piece and with him we will have formidable attacking options.
Werner for all his faults terrorises defenders with his pace and Lukaku terrorises defenders with his power and physicality.
The choice of options with Pulisic, Havertz, Werner and Lukau is frankly mouth-watering.
