He'll probably do alright, he'll get loads of chances. He couldn't trap a bag of cement for us, but at least he looks in better shape these days.
Who's dropping out to accommodate him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’ll obviously be Werner, who Chelsea fans turned on in his first season in a new league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No they haven't!

Has havertz been critical of this signing claiming it will ruin the current dynamic, or is this the media trying to stir it up?

Biggest joke club on the planet. Buy about a million players, sell them on and then buy back for triple the price

I'm looking forward to reviewing this thread in a month or so. Lukaku has not looked that great at times in the past, a bit like Salah when he came. Even kdb looked a bit lost at times, I never believed it was the players fault but the management of the players. This manager seems to be able to provide players with what they need to succeed, coupled with the fact that Rom certainly seems to have improved and is older, wiser and more confident now I think we will do alright. He only has to score 7 or 8 to beat last years top scorer after all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I reckon most people think he’ll do well. I’d suggest it’s your scattergun approach to transfers that most are having a go at.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Scattergun, I'd accept patience but not a scattergun approach.

It is though. You basically bought as much young talent as you could, obviously in the hope that a few of them would make the grade. The one thing Chelsea definitely wasn’t is patient. Just off the top of my head a few you got rid of who then came good are KDB, Salah and now Lukaku. Not very patient with them, were you?

Well if you look atvthe actual facts rather than tailor your own narrative the examples you have created as follows.
Lukaku was the one who wasn't patient. He requested to leave rather than stay and fight for a place agst Torres and Eto.
Mourinho just decided he didn't like KDB and vice versa. It was a personal issue rather than club issue.
Salah is just one of those things.
On the whole, when it comes to signing strikers we have a poor track record thoughI am not sure why that is.

I don’t have a narrative, I’m not anti Chelsea. But are you honestly going to say that Chelsea have historically been patient with their signings? And surely the sheer number of young players that you signed and then immediately loan out is the very definition of a scattergun approach?

It's not a scattergun approach. Scattergun is defined as randomness. The players mentioned were identified scouted and chosen. The loan system is part of CFC business model. It brings income whilst the players develop. The club then sells like Guehi, Tomori or keep like Mount James Christensen RLC. CFC have sold £50m worth of barely played talent this summer. They have clauses in most.

My bad, I meant I'd accept a lack of patience as a criticism rather than scattergun approach. We identify.potential, we have even developed potential up to a point but often don't seem to have the patience to see them through to their full potential. This is for all sorts of reasons, not least the fact that we change managers do often, but that is driven by a desire to won things. And you can't argue with the results there.
