On 350K a week. What a scam.
We just make the same mistakes over and over again.
Sad.

Speak for yourself, not everyone was begging him to stay, those with eyes could see he's a very one dimensional player, doesn't have the skill to play in tight spaces, only really capable of affecting the game if the ball is played in behind defence where he can run on to it, even then he fluffed many chances. Apart from that he's very predictable and easy for even average defenders to shut down.
I've been saying this long before he signed his new contract but I kept hearing he was world class because he scores goals you would expect any decent striker to score in a team like Arsenal.
---
He might not have been world class but he's goal scoring record was world class nobody can deny that. If he had left at that point would you of trusted this lot to get an adequate replacement I certainly wouldn't of.

Goal scoring record lol, this is exactly the type of thinking thats led to him getting a new contract. If people actually watch the game and stop adding so much weight to stats then maybe an average player wouldn't fly over their heads.
As I said he scores goals you would expect any decent striker to score in a top team like Arsenal, his goals rarely ever leave you thinking 'how did he do that'. Any decent striker should be getting at least 20 goals per season at Arsenal, if anyone thinks that automatically means world class then they simply lack an understanding of the game...

If we break quickly, Auba is a very good and dangerous player to have. If we continue to play Xhaka in CM, take ages to progress the ball up the pitch and have to break down two banks of four, then it's a waste of time having him on the pitch. It's really that simple.

So Auba being sheet is Xhaka fault now

I’m kind of getting fed up with the excuses being made for him. Look at his individual game, He has had chance after chance put on the plate for him last season, he even missed an unbelievable sitter against Chelsea last week, so it looks as tho it’s continued on from last season. The guy has lost his sharpness, he’s clearly passed his peak, he’s easy to defend against, no strength, can’t hold the ball up, can’t link play. This is not a knee jerk observation it’s now a fact. We need a new cf and quick.

Tbh I thought that giving Auba a new contract would be cheaper than trying to find a replacement of similar quality and I still think that logic is sound because it's not like he's dropped off a cliff physically
He still seems to get the chances there's just no accounting for whatever is going on in his head that means he can't finish any of them
The frustrating thing is that with the nature of the predicament it feels like if he gets one goal he might kick on so it's tempting to play until that happens but it's just not happening at all so far

Doesn’t get that many chances now. Arsenal are one of the least creative teams in the league.

Arsenal created plenty of goal scoreing chances today, the problem being we fail to take advantage.

Between Chelsea and Spurs games we had Chambers Bellerin, AMN and Cedric playing RB at difference times
Does that scream clued-up manger to anyone!

OP this is your own article about Auba… what on earth has RB got to do with this topic?
Back on topic… it should be Auba or Laca starting with the other on the bench, they don’t work together. Laca should start the majority of games, with Auba starting when we’re playing a counter attacking style, which is pretty rarely. He should also be brought on when we’re a goal or two up and the opposition need to leave some gaps to risk attacking us. He can still be quality for us if used right, but I don’t want to see him starting left wing!
