Emeregency thread having just returned from Trent Bridge.
Worrall and Grabbs will be missed today, but hopefully we still have enough on the pitch to bring a point home at least

Apologies I forgot Stoke was before Derby.

He schooled Lampard when we played them in the cup. Think there's a glass ceiling with anti football, it gets a lot of teams up, keeps one or two up and gives the odd one Stoke, Burnley a good few years of pulling the team bus up in front of the worlds best.
Not a fan of it myself though.

Based on what I saw first half today I think we’ll do quite well this season. Obviously need to new LB and ideally something more creative in midfield but we have some exciting talent. Coventry wanted it more but we were on our feet after not having the preseason of other teams. Hopefully the fans will get behind us and the armchair ones here will keep quiet

Were you actually there caniggia, or we’re you sitting in your armchair at home watching?

Ey up lads here in peace. I watched the game from my unbiased neutral standpoint, mainly as a distraction from our meteoric rise from the brink of bankruptcy to 21/22 Championship Winners.
Karanka, O'Neil, Lamouchi I don't think you can blame Hughton for negative football it's been the club's overarching philosophy, if fans want attacking football think it's the powers that be you should be talking to.
In terms of sitting back Coventry also switched to a back three second half n I thought played some good stuff breaking the lines, until they got anywhere near your defence.
Read an interesting stat t'uther day about throw ins, you're more likely to concede from a ball thrown 20 yards forwards than one played 20 yards backwards, you're also more likely to score by throwing the ball 20 yards backwards than forwards.
I think when fans see teams sitting back we moan about trying to win the game 1-0 when actually most managers are trying to win it 2-0. N I don't know the stats but imagine it's similar to thrown ins. You're more likely to get a result protecting a 1-0 lead and playing smartly on the counter than blowing your advantage trying to be expansive. Which no offence, same as us, you don't have the MF talent to do.
Only seen Mighten twice not sure the hype, he's tricky but not seen a lot of man beating followed by shot or successful pass/cross. That younger looked good though Johnson is it? Taylor has never looked good but I don't see him week in week out.
I thought your LB looks quite decent going forward, is defending his problem?
Liked Coventry's left back Maatsen was it. Don't think Waggy n Gyokeres worked. Looked more dangerous n direct when Walker n Jones came on.
Early days. Think Hughton and Robins are both underrated managers. Agree though Hughtonball is as tedious as watching us try to move the opposition defence around.
Hope you guys were all nice to Waggy today.

Annoyed to lose but in the end a draw would have been fair as lack of pre-season caught up with us.
The usual suspects on Vital are all crying doom and gloom and blaming Hughton, but I saw a more attacking Forest in the first half, and some useful second half attacks only stopped by crude Coventry fouls.
They had four players on yellow cards, but we ran out of steam instead of getting Mighten and Johnson running at them some more.
Losing Grabban and Worrall before the game and Mbe Soh after 30 minutes didn't help.
Still should have won, and maybe CH did make the wrong substitutions too late. But I'm hoping a couple of signings will lighten the gloom and he'll prove that he's still a decent manager..

Are both Worrall and Grabben missing through injury or are they lining up moves elsewhere?
If we lose them, then we are in serious trouble

Apologies for not doing the thread (Red). Had a tooth abscess and then root canal.
Thanks to the agonising pain i couldn’t sleep. I managed to fall asleep when we were 1-0, woke up to the commentary at 1-1, fell back into sleep / sleep paralysis. Got up this morning and saw it was 2-1.
Soh looked good, Gabriel did ok. Johnson impressive. Mighten ok also.
Looking forward to Bong leaving. Him and Figs are always going to result in a loss.
Terrible substitutes. Baffling that we didn’t push for a second goal. No Swann on the bench, or Da Costa.
Fitness was an issue. Missing two friendlies was always going to be a problem.
Very likely that we’ll lose all our games in August after that display. Then at least CH will be gone.
LB, CM and 2 Forwards as a minimum.
Team v Bradford:
Horvath
Gabriel Fernandes McKenna Richardson
Cafu Fornah
Johnson Carvalho Mighten
Swann
Smith, Back, Worrall, Colback, Zinker, Da Costa, Grabban
Might as well give youth a chance, we’re not going to win the cup!!

I've calmed down a bit after a good night's sleep so my more considered opinion is :-
We are unfit, and under prepared.
Sorry to hear about your dental issues 'chile take comfort from the fact that CH has bigger problems to sort out.
Individually the back four were 7/10, but collectively they were about 2/10. They just didn't play as a unit.
Colback and Yates were outnumbered and outfought. Cafu should have come on earlier and for Lolley.
Taylor and Johnson looked like they could develop a good understandin, but I expect Grabban to be first choice when fit.
Don't agree with your team for Wednesday 'chile. Horvath - yes, but we need to win so play a strong team - one close to the team we start with on Saturday. They need the extra game time to get fitter and to get used to playing together
Horvath
Gabriel, LMS or Figs, or Woz, McK, Bong
Yates, Colback
Zink, Cafu Mighten
Taylor
Hopefully build up a lead early and give a couple of youngsters a run.

Would have a mixture of above teams.
Johnson must start, just as Bong and Figs must not.
Result came as no real shock, neither did the nature of it. We followed the same pattern as much of last season.
More worrying is the hesitancy in the transfer market. Last season made it crystal clear what changes were needed over the summer. We seem to constantly underbid and then move on.
We need to hold onto the youngsters breaking into the team and add in vital areas (LB/MF/CF).
We need decisiveness off the field, not the perseverant dithering we are witnessing.
