Formation against Chelsea.

With the fallout of our embarrassment at the Brentford Community Stadium still making the rounds, the even bigger challenge of stopping the European Champions now looms large.
In my reckoning, to stand any chance of coming out with something from the game, we must match Chelsea’s formation and in doing that get back to a system that earned Arteta the little success he has achieved in his circa 18 months at Arsenal.
My starting eleven would be:

Leno
White— Mari— Tierney

ANM—Xhaka—Sambi—Saka

Pepe—Laca/Martinelli—ESR

White made his reputation playing as a right CB in a back three and Mari( if only he will apply himself) has the physicality to deal with Lukaku

The speed of AMN and Saka will be needed to curtail the pacy wing play of Pulisic and Werner while ESR should be licensed to come infield to create when we have possession.
Daunting task but we have the personnel to beat Chelsea if properly deployed.

Agree about back 3. Been thinking for a while we should just revert to that again. It mostly turned to crap under Arteta once he started playing a back 4. I know ideally we should aim toward a 4 as it can produce more attractive football, but I’m not sure we have the players to do it in every game. While the football wasn’t amazing, our best performances under Arteta came at the start using a back 3.

Lukaku has only scored 3 times against Arsenal, in about 17 appearances. Let's not pretend he has spent a year or 2 in Italy and turned into Drogba.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That wasn't Arteta's Arsenal. Arteta's insistence on playing out alone, is likely to gift Lukaku at least one goal, without him having to do much at all. Throw in his sh !t tactics and poor selection too and it's all over.

Teams/Players don't need to beat us anymore. The manager is beating the team for the opposition before the games have even begun. Rommy will have a field day and everyone is going to see just how humiliating life under Arteta is going to be ALL SEASON LONG!

Artetas Arsenal conceded far less than Wenger and Emerys Arsenals of last 5 years.

It's a home game at least so just BOO THE SH !T OUT OF THE MANAGER!

Preferably all game long and with so much damned profanity aimed at him by so many people that TV is forced to kill the AFC broadcast and follow with a threat to control the profanity or we won't get back on TV.

Then fans simply refuse to stop the profanity until Arteta is GONE! They'll sack his feckin ass real quick. Speaks volumes about the fanbase that after the hate campaign launched to dislodge the clubs greatest manager, AFC are pretty much just sitting back quietly like lil biyatches putting up with this legendary status LOSER not bein sacked. This sh !t justwouldn't be tolerated by any of the other PL fanbases.

Admitted to himself he hasn't got anywhere near a fraction of what it takes to do the top job, stepped down and left humiliated (as he DESERVED TO), allowing us to appoint a real football manager who actually knows what the feck he's doing.

Don't make excuses for Arteta or buy into his scapegoating, responsibility shirking, "Prove what a he really is" statements at the end of last season. Claiming he done so pss poorly because the players weren't good enough to do better. Players shoulda smacked him in the mouth for that sh !t.

We failed miserably last season and are continuing to do so starting this one for exactly the same reason. Arteta (currently) is a terrible manager who is a complete obnoxious asswad to go with it. The vast majority of the squad have all but downed tools as a result. Results are so bad because the players don't want to play for the loser, buck-passing who is managing the team. Simple and plain to see since Feb.

Most people cannot stand to work for someone who behaves the way Arteta does. Bad attitude combined with abject failure from leadership, leads to bad morale, negativity and low productivity among the workforce. It's a simple equation and it's no different, even in the crazy world of football. There's only so much sh !t people will take off someone and the Arsenal players more than had enough of Arteta's AAAGES ago. As long as he stays, we'll keep losing.

Watching a lot of the games this weekend, I think it’d probably fair to say we have one of the worse or if not the worse attacking play in the league. We don’t have the worst in terms of talent, but in terms of how we build attacks I don’t see many worse than us.
