N'Dombele - What do we do with him?

Where are we with this guy? I have been on the fence but I am now leaning towards getting rid. He is tieing up a lot of cash, through value of player, and the huge wages he is receiving.

Potentially the most talented player in the squad, but just has never settled, cant get fit, cant stay fit, attitude questionable, and now he will be further unsettled by us looking to sell his pals.

Do we cut our losses and try and move him on, maybe for 45m, or do we persevere with him?

Thoughts?

Without being too kneejerk about yesterday, I think one takeaway should be that the new coach could manage to get a tune out of some players that we had all written off
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s almost like Mourinho actually is as bad a coach as some of us have been saying all along
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A bad coach does not win 20 trophies fella. He may not be at his peak when he came to Spurs, but he certainly has never been a bad coach.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No but when he came to spurs he was years past his best and used a very short term approach in trying to grind out results - to the detriment of the quality of football, the coaching of the team, the fitness of the players and, ultimately, the results. 11 points from 12 games was worse than the poor run under Poch in 2019 and that poor run at least ended in a top 4 place and a CL final. Jose was never a good fit for THFC, hopefully Nuno will help erase the memory of that truly miserable 18 month period.

Ace, I did say he may have been past his best when he turned up at Spurs, but a lot of supporters have implied he was never a good coach, when he clearly has been in the past. Certainly one of the great coaches of the 21st century. His record is up there with the very best of the modern era.

Mourinho WAS a very good coach a decade ago. He’s not any more. That’s why I used the present tense in my previous post.

I wonder if Pep will go the same way as Jose eventually. If he loses it a bit and can't get top clubs anymore it might not work. It's not like he's ever had to adapt his methods or compromise.

Pep's not as obnoxious as Mourinho.

It seems like Jose's life mission is to alienate as many people and clubs as possible then blame everyone but himself when it goes wrong.

Yeah of course. I think my point remains, though. He needs to rotate around the top clubs for his style to work. Maybe he can change, maybe he won't have to. Or he'll just take the Spain job or something.

Let Nuno see what he can do with Ndombele.
If Nuno can get him fit I am sure Ndombele will play, may even start.
But if Not.......he will be gone at Christmas.

Great insight as usual Ted.

I think that the club need to get tough on N’Dombele... put him through really hard fitness training...

Why should we pay him £200k a week, if he’s not prepared to work hard...

I saw that training video of him last week, when Dele Ali was trying to engage with him... N’Dombele didn’t want to know... looked like he was sulking...

It’s pathetic... our record signing & one of our most talented players... but gets dropped by 3 different managers... terrible attitude!!

Yeah...its all on Nuno's shoulders.
Who would be a manager with players like Ndombele?
