Celtic face direct competition for the signature of Georgios Giakoumakis after Werder Bremen matched their offer for the Eredivisie's leading scorer.

Reported Celtic target Georgios Giakoumakis wants €700k-per-year [£596k], according to Bild.

The wage demand equates to around £11.4k-per-week.
A figure Celtic should have no problem paying a new signing under their current wage structure.

A few other clubs interested in him now, but Bremen and Celtic are apparently closest.

Celtic will probably try a 'McGinn' bluff with them..

On the one hand why in fack would Hibs want that idiot but on the other it saves them looking around, known quantity, loves ra club n'at, but they will be entitled to play it tough over his value in the deal which is predominantly, we'll take him off your hands.
