Sounds like a new contract is imminent, keeping him at the club for the next 4+ years. All I can say is that it's well deserved. He's been at the club since he was 15 and had alot of ups and downs but since Tuchel took over and the move to a back 3 he's been immense. Yesterday is just the latest example of how much he's grown. You can see with how he's playing that his confidence is sky high and its really helping his performances. I'm not sure is he's keeping Silva out of the team at the minute but he's definitely the future/heart of defence going forward.

He is proving me wrong even if it needed us to play a back 3.
Still don't fancy him in a back 4 but he has been excellent under Tuchel.

I never had serious doubts about Christensen as the libero of a back 3, Rudiger's been the pleasant surprise for me. I genuinely thought he was a bit naff before Tuchel, got by on "passion", but I gotta eat humble pie on that right now.

I have to be honest and admit that I wasn't a fan of his before and thought he was milky, but since Tuchel has come to the club he has been imperious. He gets stuck in these days and he reads a game so well. Definitely worth a new contract as is Rudiger. Why pay big money for players when you've got the finished items already playing for you.
