Venturing out into Russia...not sure about this one but Loko made a concerted effort to cajole him, to the extent that they offered him the number 10 shirt which had been retired for many years (almost a decade!) and comes with considerable history...shows how highly regarded Tino is by them (specificially Ralf Rangnick who has control of operations at the club).
Caught me off guard, a big gesture for a youngster embarking on his full professional debut season (on-loan) that will be using their club as stepping stone, undoubtedly one of the main reasons Tino chose to sign for them.
Lokomotiv Moscow may well go on to trigger their buy option but crucially Chelsea inserted buy-back clause...
Made an impression here on his limited appearances.
CL debut displayed his special technical and physical skillset.
A ridiculously polished finisher when presented with an opportunity or sighter as well, may see that in next few years at this level. Best finisher at academy level to my mind.
Another one on the conveyor belt of academy talent at this club that is of the required technical/tactical standard to function at Chelsea and will be knocking on the door in future...provided he stays fit!
One to watch.
From one Tino to another....

What little I've managed to see of him, he certainly does look like a natural finisher. The best thing about this, for me, is that this will be a massive test of his mental strength. If he can cope with stepping into the shoes of a legend for Lokomotiv, then that bodes well for him being able to cope with the pressure of playing for Chelsea as well.
And that's something that you can't teach and you can't train. And you don't know if someone has got it until you throw them in the deep end.

Apparently Rangnick sees a bit of KDB in him. Reading about it it does certainly seem like a statement signing for Lokomotiv. I can see why Tino (or indeed any young player) could be sold even though room seems random on outset. They just really want and believe in him, they’re in Europa League, and decent probability he does well he’ll move to top 5 league in 3-4 years max

Nice, didnt even know Ralf had got a new job. Ill keep an eye on them now cheers chelseamf. Always been interested to see how teams do where hes working since his hoffenheim days.
I see they spent a fair bit 30m euro with 5m in sales. 8 players in average age of 21.5. Sounds like Ralf
Anyway if Ralfs targeted him hes probably got some top potential.
