Yep, it's nothing to do with the buffoon whose ultra defensive tactics allowed an ageing Italy side to dominate us from the third minute on. Nothing to do with the whanker who put on Sancho and Rashford just a minute before the end so they could take penalties without even having properly got into the game and loosened up. Nothing to do with the complete non-management of a man who expected the younger players to step up and take penalties. Southgate is to blame for our loss not Saka or Rashford or Sancho.

Wow! That was a bit of an OTT reaction. Not sure how the ability to take a penalty under pressure has anything to do with how the manager set up the team in the preceding 120 minutes.

Thought Saka, like many last night, underwhelmed for the fist hour or so and started to look more dangerous as the part time opposition tired.

I am pleased he scored but i see better options for that position on current form.

Though it's true that Southgate is to blame for the loss, Rashford and Sancho need to be taking a HUGE amount of blame for waltzing up like a pair of s and attempting to take arrogant showy pens. I'll give Saka a pass not because he's a Gunner but because he's a baby whom never should have been taking that Pen. Rashford and Sancho couldn't help the fact they came on cold but the fact they did was all the more reason to not even consider attempting the showy pens.

You take a pen like that in a final shoot out and YOU BETTER FECKIN SCORE OR YOU'RE A who should be shouldering blame for the loss. The racism afterward was despicable but it should NOT buy Rashford and Sancho a pass for being two clowns who could have won it for us in spite of Southgate's Arteta impression. Rashford's penalty really did boil my pisss!

Italy had missed one. He just needed to put it away to take a 2-1 advantage after 2 each. When the oppo miss, you just have to make sure you bang your penalty in. Instead he handed back all the initiative to Italy. They should have been worried instead they were buoyed.

I find it very annoying that a striker like Rashford cannot back himself to pick a corner and put it there out of the reach of a keeper. For me its the bread and butter of a striker's role. If you have to do a little merry jig and hope the keeper goes the wrong way to score then you fail in the basic role of a striker - the ability to finish. Good finishers bang it in to a corner.
