Does he deserve to start over Sancho?
I’d say he deserves a run

Bundesliga is a very different pace from the PL. Sancho needs game time to adjust to the league benching him won't help him achieve that.
Another 5 or 6 starts and he'll start ticking over trust me. He's leaving everything a little too short ATM but that's just nerves....
Just give the lad some time!!!

I pray that I am wrong about sancho but he has done nothing to convince me that my concerns about him were unjustified. Luckily, it is way to early to say either way.
Vidic and evra are utd legends, but there is no doubt they were also diabolical in their first games for utd. Saying Sancho has been diabolical so far, is simple facts. That is not to say he will continue to be diabolical

Sancho is rubbish compared to Lingard. We should have made Man City sign Sancho instead as he is like Depay in the PL. No end product and below average player.

Sancho is tier 1 world class lad. Calm down.

How many world class tears are there?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
3 tiers or categories if you like

Lingard got very quick reflexes in scoring goals from difficult positions...we saw a good example today

If Pogba is one of two holding midfielders
----------------------------------------------------------------------
pogba attempted, and made, more tackles today than mctominay manages on average in the PL (5 attempted, 3 completed, in 90 minutes; last season scott attempted 2 per 90 minutes, and successfully completed 1.2 per 90 minutes)
he also, of course, got as many assists today as scott has in his entire pl career

I don't think McT is the answer either Don, but is the best of the three.

Thought Pogba did okay defensively for the best part today. Matic and AWB were the problem, position all over the place.
The only criticism of Pogba was slowing the play down when it wasn’t required. He’s never going to be the best “CM” in a two, but he is putting in the effort now.

the problem is that matic is the only one who actually knows how to play that position, but his legs are 5 years too old (or 10 in cdm years)
mctominay really isn't a holding midfielder, but should be easily trainable, especially given that he has played in defence quite a bit for scotland.
quite why though, when the best cdms in the world have sold for less than £50m, we haven't managed to buy one in the past decade, i really do not know

That Sancho is gonna make that right wing slot his own for the next 10 years……watch this space..

I’d love it if McTominay could play that role as there’s a lot I like about him. However, a lot of what I like involves him getting forward a bit. I’ve always felt that Fred, though unglamorous, might be a better fit. Neither are ideal though.
