Morning all. Great to see that someone has re-created a site that works. Hope all will migrate to this very shortly. In the meantime, who's coming in, who's going, & why? Where do we see ourselves by Christmas? Me, I see BJ staying, Kilkenny coming in. I see SG struggling to find a tough tackling DM. As a result, I see him trying Bruce & Bromby at the base of a diamond. I also see him considering Clayton as a partner for Howson as an alternative in a flat midfield 4. I see Sam getting opportunities to share the load out wide & I see Paynter & Becchio load sharing as the holding striker up front with Somma & McCormack battling it out for the 2nd striker role. I also see us being much more of a threat this time round. All in all, I see us pushing & getting auto this season despite some of the quality coming down from the PL & the threat from the South coast coming up.

This crucial part you missed Boggers, was that above all else our defence needs strengthening. If its not, we won;t be challenging the autos...that is not even debatable.

And before you and anyone else responds by saying Kissa will sort it out, we don't know how badly his injury has affected him. Lees has had a good seson in League 2 but is unproven at this level. We need to bring in defenders as the no.1 priority.

White, you make a fair point. SG feels, having seen him in training over the previous few weeks, that he is expected to make a full recovery. Having had a career ending injury myself, I appreciate that there is some doubt here, which explains why they're initially offering him only a short extension. That said, we still have OB, Bruce, & Bromby plus a developing Lees to push for starting places. OB isn't everyone's cup of tea. But we haven't been turned over badly since his arrival, unless my memory is playing tricks. We may have conceded goals, but we're not now having 4, 5, & 6 put past us as we were towards the end of 2010 before OB arrived. We'll see how things develop, but I for one think we'll get a couple of new arrivals & be in a strong psition to compete for auto.

I'm not going to go all LIW on you, but IMO O'Brien has been pretty average since he signed permanently with us. We havn't had a settled defence with Bruce, Bromby and Naylor all being experimented with.

QPR kept 25 clean sheets, we had 11. Its not rocket science that if we stick with what we had this season, that figure won't change much.

We need another, younger Kisnorbo. And that means spending a bit of cash.

Fair point White. Let's wait & see what happens, especially as Bruce is supposed to be the young Kisnorbo
