The Final Third

Well, in all honesty that result was unexpected.

So hungover and tired (been up for the rugby) I've put together a few thoughts.

I've included Derby, as...well it's a respect nod in your direction too.

I think our league position is false but deserved IMO, we already have top 2 places in CC taken eventually by west ham and leicester, brighton are on a bad run but still have a 3.5mill striker and a former spanish international. Ipsiwch have bullard and chopra and are coming into form. So for us to finish in play offs in unrealistic, but we will see much better performances than last season and we are on course for a 12-8th finish.

No time to say more, but that seems to me a pretty sound analysis of where we are and what might happen as the season unfolds. Thanks, spherical.

Don't get me wrong. Those who are at the top are there by merit.

However as explained the final third is where those who are flying too close to the sun have their wings melted.

Depth and quality of will separate the wheat from the chaff.

I'm not bragging, so don't take it the wrong way.

It's not a dig at anyone. Purely based on the last 3 seasons and my own assessments.

agreed, but we have the potential to finish in the top 6 next season, with the young players we have. (which are a great improvement on loans, savage and pearson.

Well if you can find that extra gear come the new year then I'll eat my own hat.

But good luck with it!

this season will be success ful if we finish midtable, beat forest twice and for us not to think "oh schitt we might go down)

Good article and I agree with every word.

Man U are the classic example of building momentum throughout the season and picking up points by hook or by crook at the start of the season then kick on at the turn of the year and then be unstoppable come April/May.

I wish teams fans' in general wouldn't be so reactive. Leicester fans' can be considered in that category.

Sven is too wiley to not have a long-term plan. Good managers do. Fergie is one of those. Though someone like Wenger has given up.
