Generally played really well today but there's an ongoing theme with him and it's HANDS. I don't think I've ever seen a player grab, tug, hug and clothesline the opposition so much. It's to the point of ridiculous now, EVERY game he plays in he gets blown up at least once (giving away a dangerous FK usually) for arms and hand grabbing at and/or holding a player. Has nobody told him this is football not greco roman wrestling.
This is little more than ps poor discipline, he done it all last season too and by now the manager should have picked up on it and forced him to sort it out. Refs have certainly picked up on it. Sure ALL players especially defenders do it sometimes but Gabriel is beyond excessive with it and it needs clamping down on. He lost out on a 50/50 decision today purely because he earned himself a wrestling rep with refs last season. Between the 50/50s that go against him (soon to be most this season) and the clear cut "wrestled him over needlessly," fouls he gives away, he is going to cost us big come any "Squeaky bum time"
Happy with him and he's one of my preferred starters in ability stakes but this handsy indiscipline is just something you can't afford against the better teams in the league. It leads to wins turning to last minute draws and draws becoming last minute losses. Especially when you have non-headering defenders like White

I don’t see anything from him that I haven’t seen from a thousand and one other defenders. Regular argy bargy and strategic fouls. Thought he was great today.

Ok, next game pay close attention to his arms compared to the other defenders on the pitch. It's not that they don't all grab at times it's that he's the only one dumb enough to grab every time to the point now where refs will give the benefit of the doubt the other way every time purely because they know it's him involved. A bit like divers (who aren't english) don't get pens once refs know they're one for givin it the Neymar.

I thought Gabriel was fighting Odegaard for MOTM today.
Partey was superb as well but that's almost expected from someone of his quality. Saka was a bit off in this game but it happens to everybody.
