Tbh having rewatched it , its a foul on Starfelt and the penalty shout is the same type of foul thats he just ignored so he either awards the first which would be the correct call or none

I listened to the game on the radio, not really done that in a long while - I was decorating (boo)

Sounded like a really open game - it did sound like celtic were the better team and had much more chances.

The studio seemed to think it was a penalty - including Pat Bonnar who also spotted Joe Hart having a bit of a laugh with Clark after it. He reckoned Joe was saying they got away with one there.

They also talked about a booking for a Utd player which could have been a straight red, whilst they thought there was no intent it could have been 'endangering an opponent'


I don't see the similarity with the Starfelt 'foul' - the Utd player gets all of the ball.

The celtic defender makes no attempt whatsoever to play the ball - is the Ref calling it a shoulder to shoulder 'incident'?

The similarity is that there was a barge on Starfelt, the same as on the Utd player. The Utd player got the ball because he barged through the back of Starfelt. CCV went shoulder to shoulder with the Utd player in the box and barged him. Either both are fouls or neither. You’d probably need to see it. Bonnar surmising what was said is taking things a bit far.

I think we got away with one at that, but it would have been inconsistent-which is not unusual.

At the game, I thought Fuchs (who was excellent) should have got a red-but it was at the other side of the pitch. I’ve seen a replay, and I still think it was a red.
