Brum v Forest - Match Thread

I have been to Birmingham a couple of times. The last time I went was with my mate and his Dad. October 2015 maybe?

We had a Five Guys and I paid with a 20 quid...I got change for a 50 quid and then was given a 20 note amid some babbling apology. Utterly bizarre and one of those times when generosity is paid back in spades. We won 2-1, or maybe 1-0...the lad from Cape Verde played if I remember rightly.

Brum have been on a poor run recently, their last win against lowly Derby in early September. In the last four they have taken just one point at home to Preston and have scored just one goal...to the oppositions nine!! In the last three games they have registered just four shots on target.

Forest team:

Ely and Tutu look to continue to miss out through injury. Drager and Ojeda look to miss out also. Grabban I am sure, will be assessed on the day.

Samba
Worrall Figs McKenna
Spence Garner Yates Lowe
Johnson Zico Lolley

Horvath Soh Colback Mighten Carvalho Grabban Taylor

I think Figs has this game to keep his place, the same with Garner. I'd imagine a poor performance may see the international break an opportunity for Soh and Ojeda to stake their claim.

My prediction....2-1 Forest.

Three goals, a clean sheet, and three points. Couldn't have hoped for more. Agood afternoon's work well done Steve Cooper and the players

We've only had 6 shots on target today.

50% on target conversion rate. I can live with that. Nice to hear our commentators saying how ruthless we have been.

It's an unbelievable turn around - we are now the form team in the league !

What I like about Steve Cooper, he seems to stay totally focused - he’ll have the players enjoy tonight, but then totally prepared for the next game - he seems to be doing all the right stuff - well played Steve Cooper

It shows just how much of an influence a manager has on a team and a club. I've gone from not knowing if I an be bothered to look at the score on game day to not being able to wait for the next game.

Up to 17th, pretty amazing really. A shame we have the international break coming up. Blackpool at home could be a cracker, Cooper seems to have done a good job sorting out the away form, can he continue and sort the home form too, which has been a problem for a couple of seasons. Excellent win today, everybody will be buzzing for the next two weeks, tbh we should have consecutive clean sheets as the Barnsley penalty was soft. I expected Grabban to be off loaded in January as he will be out of contract at end of season, however, I would really try and keep him, CH must have totally frustrated him. Unbeaten in four 3 away wins and 10 from 12 points, things are, at last, looking up. Great work Steve, always thought we had a decent squad and couldn’t comprehend why CH didn’t get it going. Onwards and upwards. 👍

So we had a year of CH and each week we were waiting to see a change in tactics.
But we saw no progress and his last game in charge showed he was out of ideas.
Cooper comes in and we looked transformed.
Perhaps we should have let go of CH much eariler then we did.
Listening to Lolley interview sounds like he was holding us back!!

Have just seen the highlights and it certainly looks like it was an exciting game, we probably had a bit of fortune, Brum hit the post twice, Brice made some good saves, but we also created some excellent chances, not something we could have said a month ago. It’s strange how you seem to get the breaks when your playing well, but get punished when your playing badly. I am actually looking forward to watching us play, again something I’ve not said many times over the last year. NEP have given the highest match day player ratings I’ve seen in a very long time. 👍

Just then the highlights, we could have lost that game 6.4

Obviously we had a huge slice of luck with that result and the woeful finishing of Birmingham

Whilst I am elated, as a whole, we are still very vulnerable at the back, and sooner of later if we don’t buck our ideas up, we could get a good tonking

Still 3 points is all that matters and a great to see such attacking ability on show - I just hope we can tighten up that space between midfield and defence

Brum could/should have had 4/5 with Hughton still in charge they would! Two excellent saves by Samba!
