Differing Determining Factors

Feel frustrated like everyone else does after today. I understand people are quick to blame the manager but there were plenty of positives to take out of that game:

*Greenwood's performance
*Fast start, out of the blocks
*Quality of football at times was outstanding
*Sancho's performance
*Bruno's performance
*AWB going forward

After our sluggish start in midweek I do think it is fair to say we came out the blocks quite quickly today, if Martial scores that header (awful effort to be fair) then no doubt we go on to comfortably win too. After we went one up it seemed like a weight had lifted off of the players and we started playing some lovely one touch footie but I actually think the timing of Martial's goal really hindered us. If it had come 10 mins earlier or later then we would've carried on that momentum and got another quite soon. Just a shame play was paused for 15 minutes very quickly after we got the lead.

AWB, for all his critics, is also looking better and better going forward. Great cross to Martial at 0-0 and he put in some other good deliveries too. I just thought I would mention him ahead of Bruno or Greenwood because he gets a lot of abuse for his play in the final third but he's really actually stepped it up a hell of a lot lately.

All in all we weren't too bad, Everton rode their luck at times and to be fair executed their goal quite well but I thought a huge determining factor today was actually the early kickoff time. Playing in midweek on a Wednesday and then starting so early on a Saturday really takes it out of the legs and I thought that was quite evident with about 10 or 15 minutes to go.

Onwards and upwards now. Don't forget, one of Liverpool or City is dropping points tomorrow and hopefully after the International break we can really knuckle down, get our players fully fit and push on for the title.

I will also be honest though, things do need to improve results wise or Ole may come under some half legitimate pressure.

No he shouldn't

….

Yes he should.

McT wouldn’t get a start for most teams in the prem. He is too slow and doesn’t read the game well enough.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
See it comments like that VC that make me think you're just on the wind up. McT is a very, very complete midfielder and at his age has the potential to be a top player. He'd start for City and Liverpool ahead of Rodri and Milner respectively.

You think Milner starts for us when we have a fully fit squaddesperate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Milner starts for you. He played the other day.

He started for you in UCL final and semi. Your best 3 is

Fabinho
Henderson
Milner

You really don’t have a clue do you.

The fact McT wouldn't start ahead of 36 year old, sixth choice midfielder Milner in our midfield says it all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
McTominay is better than:

Milner
Keita
Chamberlain
Jones
Elliot
Thiago

I’ll give you Fabinho and just about Henderson, but only because Henderson has been in your side for ten years
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
McTominay is a better all round midfielder than the others. His game is far more complete.

Oh look at that. Liverpool’s biggest game of the season and James Milner starts.
