3.00pm - yes 3 O' Clock on a Saturday
16th Oct 2021
Thank god the internationals have gone. A match on a Saturday against a real traditional club in a good northern place with good northern weather.
£5 to get in tomorrow - seems to good to be true as my plans to go have been scuppered and I will be participating via RD.
The appeal against the 12 points goes in this week. Reduced or even removed would restore hope and I'm confident about surviving but maybe one of you people could tell me if the other deduction - the 9 points - could be applied?
Team news when I can paste it.
The owner of PNE - Trevor Hemmings - has past away and in a really good old fashioned gesture, admission is a fiver to fill the ground and give the old boy a good send off. Much respect. And RIP
Fresh(ish) from a hard fought draw against Swansea at PP, Derby go again with the added bonus of Jags and Baldock available, though it is too soon for Bielik and Colin. Byrne - one of our more impressive performers is on the naughty step afte accruing 5 s. "What?!!" you cry he got there before Shinnie ?
Team news:-
Allsop
Shinnie
Jagielka
Bird
Baldock
Lawrence (C)
Morrison
Buchannan
Davies
Ebosele
Knight
Subs:-
Roos
Joz
Kazim-Richards
Stearman
Sibley
Watson
Williams

Morning after View :
Morning all. Well, another coulda, shoulda, woulda game for us....in a game that we largely dominated - but once again didn't capitalise on our superior play. Not a criticism as we are actually playing well - and with a style. The shots we had surely deserved some luck - but again none was coming our way ....and again no penalities awarded...when some Refs would have given them. So, my thoughts :
1. Been a bit disappointed in Louie Sibley of late. Maybe were trying to put a square peg in a round hole....but he's proving to be largely ineffective.
2. Ryan Allsop...what an inspired signing. Keeping Roos out ATM and rightly so. Only made one mistake as I remember during the game.
3.Shinnie. My MOM. A terrific aquisition for us......and leads by example.
4.Festy. Raw talent - which could have brought him a goal. A worthy deputy on the day for Byrne.
5.CKR. Glad to see him back out there again. We've missed him.
6. Bird. Seemed much more involved in the game and rarely but a foot wrong.
7. Sam Baldock. Still don't know what to make of him...and unfortunately always seems to be injured.
8. Ravel / Loz. Back to their best and unlucky not to score today.
8. "The Management". Getting the team playing well. Yes I think that they can do more especially in getting us functioning better in the final third. I wonder what they would have acheived to date if they hadn't had their hands tied behind their backs.
...another game just round the corner now, which wont be easy....but yes, another game (like today) in which we could win....UTR

These nil nil draws are no go. We are better winning 1 losing 1 because we will average 1.5 points per game

Pointless harping on about it, I know, but what are the thoughts on the penalty shouts ?
Ive only seen the brief highlights so far, so not seen the Festy incident in the 1st half. RD (Bobby Dav) called it as a bit of a 'dive'.
As regards the 2nd half 'handball, although his hands were tucked in, I thought there was a definite movement of the elbow towards the ball. It was fairly close distance, but I think we were unlucky. Hope WR can explain his comments about Refs and the EFL, or he could be in for a hefty fine at least.

I think a man if Rooney's means will consider any fine money we'll spent.

It's fine saying we are better off winning one and then losing one but if we open up the game we are more likely to concede than we are to score, given the lack of strikers. So it wouldn't be a 50-50 chance. Probably we would win one for every four we lose.

History will say not, but it was right infront of me and it most definitely was a penalty.

One of the Preston players who picked up an early booking did a shirt-pull in the second half that was given as a foul but often would have resulted in a booking. I 'm not saying he should have been sent off but he could easily have been. It does seem at the moment as if we are getting none of the iffy decisions that are supposed to even themselves out over a season.

We can expect a bumper crop at the business end of the season then Vidal
