I think we are in an era where media and fans have more of an impact on players than we give credit for.
Social media is affecting everything especially immature minds. Like it or not most of these players are extremely immature in terms of life lessons and many of them see media as their life guide and life style. This probably applies to some fans also.
The more I look at Nuno's situation the more I'm not surprised. Media and Fans have constantly carried the narrative that he's 6th or 7th choice. How true this is...we will never know exactly. However because of this Nuno is always one loss away from being inept something that we probably wouldn't dare place at Conte's door. Maybe this is because his track record buys him more time (which is fair enough). However we are not a 'Conte' level club in spend or competition (UECL). So we move on...
I believe this arrogant and misplaced attitude is what some players use to view Nuno also. Some fans never respected him and I think some stale squad members don't respect him either for various reasons.
If Poch took over today after leaving Southampton, I reckon he would be hounded out and have the same struggles as Nuno. Everyone would still be going on about how Harry was great...(and they did so at the time)
For me Nuno has a herculean task which I hope he overcomes for our clubs sake but the more I see this club and the environment its clear that to succeed at Spurs you have to be aggressive, confident and willing to die by your convictions otherwise you'll get swallowed up by media and fans who will never satisfied whatever you do.
This mentality also needs to be applied to any first team players we sign. Even Romero who I believe displays the right attitude, arrived as Serie A defender of the year still gets berated by some fans which further buttresses my point of some people will never be satisfied nor will they give anyone time because they want instant success. Irony is us as fans can't even agree what success is.
The next 2 to 3 weeks will be very key. Tonight's match will either be beginning of the end for Nuno or end of the beginning. I bet he can't wait till January to refresh the squad with Paratici....if he's still here.
Are the players like fans?

Been hearing whispers about this. They are top of their league and their CL group, but apparently that’s no enough because he doesn’t play Messi through the middle๐คทโ๏ธ I can’t see them sacking him any time soon surely? Unless they think Zidane or Conte are more likely to get them the CL?
My opinion is Poch isn’t suited to a club like that; they’re a wannabe Galactico club wanting instant success, he’s a training pitch coach who improves younger players. It’s a bad fit. I’ve said before I don’t like the idea of taking a backward step, but I’d have him home tomorrow if it meant getting Nuno out of the door and us playing with a bit of energy and coherence again.
Worry would be Ole is on the verge of the tin tack at Utd and Poch I’ve always felt would be a good fit for them too.

Imagine Poch managing Messi and Ronaldo in the same season!!?!?

One thing I'd ask fans to keep in mind is our expectations before the season began. We are in the early stages of a rebuild, and no one could realistically say before we kicked a ball that they expected us to finish above City, Chelsea, Liverpool or Man Utd. So when that doesn't look like happening, it's not a reason to start getting angry about it!
The league is awash with teams at the top of their game at the moment, with top managers. This season was never going to be the one where we break back in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Top 6 is what most people would have taken beginning of the season. We are 6th butnits not good enough. Yes it'd early to praise Nuno but by the same yardstick its early to criticise. For me 13 games in and we shall see where we are. Either competition for 4th to 6th Spot or hopelessly struggling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you at the table right now, 4th spot is there for the taking. Utd should be favourites given they have Ronaldo but look at the state of them.
I think Leicester and West Ham will fight it out, maybe even Arsenal who seem to be getting their act together.
If we are still around the 6th position come January and Levy gets two more players in midfield and attack we will have a shout. Even if they are loans but he has to stregthen the caaaaant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Levy is gonna ask Ryan Nelson and Louis Saha to come out of retirement ๐
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What a shocking pair of signings. January has always cost us momentum. I praying not this year under Paratici.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I admire your optimism and hope that we might do something in January and wish that I could share it. But I have absolutely no belief whatsoever. What’s swaying you? The Paratici factor or that we are so bad at the moment that even Levy knows he has to do something?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Blind faith and the fact that Paratici pulled off some complex deals that I've never seen Hitchen or Levy do. It might not seem much but we got Seria A defender of the year on a loan to buy deal despite us only being able to offer UECL. Gollini left champs league football to be understudy to Lloris. Gil didn't need to come to Spurs could easily have stayed in Soain and played first team for Sevilla who are in better European competition.
I believe Paratici will know we need to look at our attack and the fact we need goals...not wingers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very much agree on Gil and Romero. If Hitchens was still in charge Romero wouldn’t have even been under consideration for the CB position and we would have 100% just gone for Joachim Anderson because he was just like the obvious signing. Gil also has Paratici written all over it. Having said that apart from Romero haven’t been impressed with the new signings at all and the decision to go with Nuno and Emerson over Tomiyasu has raised some real question marks for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Emerson not fast enough for prem. But I'll give him time to learn how to do overlapping runs.

I haven't seen much of Tomiyasu providing crosses or beating a man. Defensively both are on par. Tomiyasu is better at defending at set pieces but going forward they are pretty much the same.
Against West Ham, Reggie was target for some of our attacks but there were about 4 or 5 long balls to him and all the passes were overhit. So frustrating.

I hate seeing our CBs play long balls. I actually detest it. I would verge on corporal punishment everytime my CBs play a pass like that

Or the classic, go 3-0 down to Villa at home, claw our way back to 3-3, only to let in a last minute goal and lose 4-3 - in a weird way I do miss those days
