Finally!

So finally have my ps5 now.

Got to love the new shiny shiny!!

Any tips or things that arent the obvious to update, change or download.

Shocked, absolutely and utterly shocked to find out BBC iplayer isnt available at all, and it doesnt seem that we will be getting it any time soon !!

Very nice and thanks for the tips - I had an LG back in the day and I must say I loved it and it seemed to last me years without any visible signs of wear & tear. I have a Samsung atm, but it’s about 5 years old, so probably time to upgrade.

My only concern about buying big ticket items around this time of year is that they’ll show up in the Christmas or January sales with a couple hundred knocked off!

I know that feeling bud - my best tip for this is (ok its a bit late now) is check prices before all the black fridays/boxing day etc, and then actually see if its a deal - I have started now so I know what the normal price is and I can then see if its a sale price or a "Sale Price". But damn just checked Argos and that bad boy is expensive in the UK.

I bought an LG C9 tv, a couple of years ago. Yes it was expensive, the most money I have ever spent on a tv. But I have not regretted it at all.

One of the best purchases I have made, I don't use it much for gaming, but the picture quality is clear to everyone who sees it. In fact only last weekend some friends I hadn't seen in a while, saw it and are now looking into upgrading their TV.

The C1 as I understand it is the more up to date model? If you can afford it, then you will be not be disappointed.

It's the direct successor to the CX, but knowing LG I am guessing they are the same family somewhere along the line.

A decent judge of load times at present is the Spider-Man game. Insomniac made cute little cut-scenes like Spidey on his phone on the tube in the PS4 version, but you don’t really get to see these in the PS5 version as you’re there already!

Simon, what TV are you getting, out of interest? I’m considering a new one myself, but have been rather lazy in the research required to get the right one!

So my go to site is rtings.com (great for all stuff tech, as they do lots of in depth stuff) and they basically suggest the LG C1, and it's very reasonably priced and has lots of bells and whistles. So not the newest or greatest but I thought I would just match this with the PlayStation. So it's a 4k Oled, 120hz, Gsync/FreeSync and Android TV. So for me seems a perfect match for the PlayStation.

How much is that gonna set you back Simon?

I prefer to play games on my small Lenovo monitor then I do on my 40 inch Sony plasma. I am up close as it's on my desk and my Sony is almost 10 years old and it shows!

Seems its on sale most the time these days but current exchange puts it right around 650 pounds! And I am waiting for it to maybe go on a bigger sale around black Friday or Xmas - like I am not in desperate need but will pick up it up round Jan I guess at this price - its just strange as prices are usually horrendous here.

I was looking at 55 (it seems to be best bang for buck - 65 almost doubles the price)

Very nearly went with an OLED when I upgraded mine a couple of years ago but went with a direct lit LED from Sony instead as I had a few friends that suffered from the burn in issue with the LG’s. If they’ve sorted that, then the picture and the motion is incredible quality.
