As a scheme boy that would have sounded depressing a few years back but as I sit now? I'd be with the weans on that
We booked a cabin just outside Inverness three weeks ago (Mrs P has the name) and it was wild weather wise but the dugs care not a jot and we aw had a great 3days, no emails, no phone calls and came back relaxed and wanting more, saying that 10 days might have finished me?

As you say no emails etc recharges me.
I've recently conceded to downloaded movies & documentaries on fone
in tent when it gets dark early. We put their phones in sandwich bags to
keep them dry they use them in the evenings if there's a signal to
contact family etc. They're all amazed at how they go without them for
so long. Last night in Perthshire 16/17 year olds playing hide & seek wi
headtorches in the dark & rain.

Aye, we had our phones on as is our ritual but didn't use them other than to call a taxi to take us to the train station when going home, we've asked both our boys, 31 and 28 to come next time with the grandkids anaw, hope they do as I think it will be good for us all especially the wee ones, I never got out the city till I was about 12 so fingers crossed they agree to come

Aye good stiff Piff.
Further down the line if you're looking to extend it to 7 days you could
do worse than looking at Ardnamurchan Estates cottages. We do an
Easter & summer week for the whole 3 household platoon. A bit of a
longer journey but worth it imo. They go from 1 bed for a couple to 10+
for 7 nights. Wood burning stoves. mile high skies, & empty beaches.

May not be everyone's cup of tea. I'm biased towards the western
Atlantic coast of Scotland mainly for the sunsets & midge repelling
breeze. Estate cottages all over Scotland many nearer to Lothian. Book
direct with them. For a 4 bed AirB&B charge 400+ extra for something
called 'service'. The prices there are low season but we get
accommodation for 8 @20£ pppd in high season. Daylight robbery imo.
By us.
