Daniel Kretinsky's net worth is 4 billion. Joe Lewis is 4.9. This is not a threat unless he plans on spending an absolute fortune. It's more about the intention of the owners, not the size of their wallet.

This is why the ones from the far east, that are essentially sport washing, will spend beyond the sensible limits. Their objective is not profit, it's good PR for their respective countries. So money is no object. This Czech guy doesn't have a reputation to clean up so his motives will be financial.

Hitting the financial dreamland that City and Newcastle have acquired comes with an acceptance that the money comes from very questionable sources and with that comes the moral dilemma of just how far do we want to stretch in order to see our club succeed.

This article and video seems to suggest that the new owner of Newcastle United, albeit not officially as far as paperwork is concerned, is a complete an utter psychopath...

...yet a series of loopholes mean that he and the PIF pass the fit and proper person test with flying colours. You couldn't make it up.

God, I miss the days when the only known crook in football was Robert Maxwell, who pinched pensions from a few old dears.

Mate all this "moral dilemma" stuff is bs. most insanely rich people are dodgy and regarding human rights, the UK and the West have been the worst in the world since the dawn of time

Well, yes, in terms of the power wielded by both the U.S and the British means that any accusation comes with a pinch of hypocrisy but we do have law, order and democracy as the vanguard of western civilisation. Essentially, whilst there might be some murky reasons to go to war and the questionable ethics of things like drone strikes, there's a difference between national wars, be it noble or financial, than the horrific murders of individual journalists and statesmen or order to retain silence. We're talking individuals here, not countries fighting. I mean, the guy was chopped up into a thousand pieces. Russia, for instance, are responsible for all sorts of state sponsored poisonings, murders and gross propaganda but Roman Abramovich isn't accused of anything directly. I don't doubt his money came from questionable sources but there's a difference. With people like RA, the accusations are foggy, conjecture, hearsay. With the real owner of Newcastle United, he himself has been labelled a psychopath that sanctioned the murder of that journalist. There's a difference.

They buy a stake in your club with the money they get and probably strip your club off

I think any future takeover of Spurs depends a lot on the NFL - depending on how many more games we get at the stadium, or whether a franchise eventually comes to London, I think the club will become an attractive proposition for US based investors and as much as I dislike ENIC I would take them over any American owners who will have probably purchased the club with more of an interest in American football than the actual “soccer” club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only NFL proposed built stadium outside America apparently. Levy's put all his eggs in a USA takeover...hope it works out for all our sakes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The last thing I would want is an American takeover, they would likely go all in on the American football, and completely ignore the actual football team.
