Forest v Blades - Match Thread

Didn’t realise how much I’d missed the atmosphere, first half was more of a chess match, though we had the clearer opportunities. Absolute nailed on pen, Johnson booked for simulation, was a disgraceful decision, though I notice Sky have left it OUT of match highlights. With no crowd I’m sure that would have petered out into a 1-0 defeat, but once the Blades took the lead there was only one team in it. Predators goal by Grabban, he is everything Taylor wants to be. We certainly didn’t deserve to lose and probably edged the game overall, but until we sort out our awful home results we’ll be stuck mid table. We only seem to be proactive when we make the change and I’m not sure 3 at the back suits us. Spence and Colback had excellent games, but somehow Garner got MOM, he was poor for the first hour, then put in a cracking tackle, and never looked back. All in all can’t be too disappointed with a point, and it’s abundantly clear the team really has some character and fight about them. 👍 PNE are another team who will just sit back and try to nick a goal, we just can’t afford to keep letting this happen, so come Saturday we’ve really got to maximise our opportunities.

Bear, your spot on about the crowd, but tbf to the Blunts fans they made some good noise, quite entertaining.

I watched the game via my Mac, so I had the benefit of replays of the incident with Johnson they took swipe at him twice, second time their centre half stepped across him. While perhaps some ref's are not going to give it, booking him and then not booking their player for throwing himself on the grass on the edge of the penalty area 5 minutes later is a clear travesty.

Penalty incident was included in the highlights I’ve just watched and was a nailed on penalty. We’ve had poor refs most of our games, but last night was the worst of the bunch. (Tbf I think on balance we have benefited more than suffered from poor refereeing).

We were better after Zinc came on last night, not sure why he doesn’t start.

We deserved at least a point in an enjoyable game even though neither keeper was kept busy.

Also just watched the highlights. Basham runs across Brenham and clearly connects with his back leg. Shocking decision and just one of many in the second half that could have easily seen a few of the utd players receive a second yellow.

Still credit to the team they did not give up and could have still own it.

The ref was awful again. Cooper's post-match interview is phenomenal view. It just exudes team spirit and you can imagine how much more of that is in the dressing room.

Compared to CH's miserable droning. I feel sorry for Cardiff if he gets that job.

I see Derby losing again. Even without the points deduction they'd be 20th. If they can't beat Barnsley they have no chance.As it stands, no wins in six.

I do have fond memories of league one though...visited some grounds / places that shouldn't exist...never mind have a football club!

It’s been a long time since we had a Derby fan on here.

League One positives:

1. You get to visit new grounds / towns.
2. Away tickets are cheaper.
3. You are always the big team.
4. You can boast about your past attendances.
5. You’ll be on Sky at least 4 times a year.
6. No need to loan your players to league one anymore.
7. It’s a fresh start, blood the youngsters, spend money from the fire sale.
8. You can be a quiz question...other than Forest (who won in Europe, twice) name 5 other teams who got to a SF in Europe, but never won. I’ll give you the first one...Derby.
9. You can restructure your finances, not live above your means.
10. And for the fickle amongst you, we’re only 15-odd miles away...if you want to watch a higher league’s football team.

Bloody hell View, that was a struggle, but good luck nonethelesx 👍🏻
