When will Roman decide it's time to do it ?
OK, we know he is peeved because of the way the home office has viewed his residency app.
He will get over it, it is business.
My bet is if the club reaches a 3 billion pound value, he will develop the jewel in the crown that is Stamford bridge.
I believe that this is viable when you consider the forcast for the viewing rights for the EPL over the next 10 yrs..
The Chinese and USA markets are anticipated to grow significantly..
COME ON YOU BLUES, ktbffh.
Redeveloping the Bridge ?

I do think this could become a liability for Chelsea though. Every couple of years another club increases the size of their stadium - Chelsea have one of the smaller stadiums in the Premier League now. Missing out on that revenue will catch up with us eventually. It would be good to have a long term plan - at the moment it is up in the air.

Revenue*

Agreed it could be an issue, but i feel that it would only become an issue if we not able to maintain a top four position and we were out of the Champions league for 3-4 seasons +.
The bulk of our income today comes from global rights Merchandising, TV, brand advertising ect.
Match day income as important as it is will not surpass a good Champions league run. Naturally both are important.

Well, match day revenue may not be the biggest income, but based on our 40,000 capacity instead of upwards of 60,000 which is where it could be - that’s still potentially the loss of £1M each game. 19 home league games, plus let’s say another 6 English home cup games, plus say 5 CL home games - that’s £30M per season. That’s substantial. And it will happen every year until we are able to get a bigger stadium.

Roman will be only too aware & will be itching to redevelop ASAP surely

Agreed it is a substantial sum 30m, but so is the redevelopment 600m - 800m plus interest?
When you do the maths, even if that were pure profit that will take around 30 years to recover in that con text.
But also when an elite players fee and contract can be anticipated to cost the club 150m- 200m + = Lukaku, ect
the stadium redevelopment is a solid investment, it will add long term equity to the club.
I genuinley think it is more about prestige and the long term value of the club to Roman.
I do agree it will happen, i think its about when the time is right.

Hopefully we can expand. A nice 55,000 - 60,000 would be great. As it stands they seem to be intent on reducing our capacity for whatever reason
