I can never support other PL sides in the CL generally unless they are playing another PL side and are the lesser of two evils.

Spurs under Redknapp and Leicester are the only times I can remember doing it.

I'm not sure how the entry places allocations go in European club competitions these days but at one time an extra entry would be granted to a country based on the performance of their teams in those competitions over a period of time. This sometimes gave an opportunity to one of our "less fashionable" teams to play in European competition. So I still generally support any UK or Eire team playing against any other country team. As a Man Utd fan I am happy to see Man City, Liverpool or a London club do well in Europe. I struggle to have any respect for Leeds but that is only because of my perception of the behaviour of their so-called fans.

I am hurt by that. You cannot judge a fan base on a few bad ones. Or a few thousand.
