years, I’ve woke up with some excitement about the club. I’ve forgotten what that feels like. Being a Spurs fan is an emotional rollercoaster with a lot of time spent at the bottom of the ride. Let’s look forward to some heady highs. Enjoy this feeling whilst it’s here ladies and gents 🍾🍸

Conte will be in for a culture shock with some of the players he has to work with.
And the squad is as bad as its been made out. We have minimal width threat , no recognised playmaker and 2 limited destroyers in the middle of the park , one who just spent a season in the championships.
Nuno would have done better with a better squad. Conte wil go the same way if not properly backed.

You under estimate Conte and our squad.
Good managers make players better.
You say we have no width, yet we have Moura, Gil, Bergwijn and Son....do we need any more wide attackers. Reggie is a decent attacking full back
I agree with PEH & Skipp, they do not more the ball quick enough or incisively enough.
Both NDombele and GLC are play makers. Not performing at a high level or consistently but play makers non-the-less.
Your final paragraph implies there is little difference between Nuno & Conte when actually it is managers who make all the difference. Ones like Poch got the likes of Walker Vertonghen Dembele performing at a much high level. The brought the whole team together and there was a collective drive and determination. Nuno clearly did not inspire anyone - players, fans and the hierarchy. Conte will always do a lot better with the same players than Nuno would. One of Conte less notable achievements was his time with Italy and esp. Euro 2016. At that time they were a very poor group of players but he got them to the QFs, only losing on pens to Germany.
Yes the squad needs some improvement currently it is not as bad as is being made out. We will perform better than we did under Nuno & Jose because Conte is a top level manager.

I think Dier gets undue criticism from Spurs fans.
Yes he is not the best CB in the league, but he's pretty decent. This season he has made very few mistakes and, other than the og, certainly no glaring errors leading to goals.
Romero on the other hand is rated highly, but was at fault for the goal vs Newcastle when he let Wilson get across him instead of attacking the ball, his diving in put him out of position when Villa equalised against us, his positioning and awareness was awful for Cavani's goal at the weekend.
Deir is a player who i think will benefit greatly from Conte. He always looks better when the structure of the team and his role is clearly defined. His use of the ball is actually pretty good a lot of the time. In the same way that Rudiger looks such a better CB in a 3 and under Tuchel's very structured setup, I think Dier will do better under Conte.
Not just that, Dier is passionate and committed and he is the sort of personality who will be inspired by Conte's passion.
I could be wrong but i predict good things for Eric Dier under Conte.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dier has no pace and has a mistake in him. Fouling Pogba for a pen last season. Handball against Newcastle or West ham last season. Fouling Werner for a pen last season at home. His own goal against Newcastle this season. Against Utd when Rashford ran in for the 3rd he left a big gap and because he is a slow coach he put his arm up for offside in the vain hope the goal would be disallowed. These are just a few examples.
He has only played under Jose and Nuno because he spoke the same lingo as them. Yeah he has played ok in some games and but he is not one to throw his body on the line and thinks he is better than he is. Classic example when he tried to play through the Wolves midfield and was disposessed which lead to Adama T running one on one but fluffed his lines.
He is much as a liability as Sanchez. Both need to be moved on. Their cycle has ended with us. Hopefully he doesn't speak Italian.

The foul on Pogba was the season before (June 2020)
Handball vs NUFC was a ridiculous ref decision, hardly a glaring error from Deir
The tackle on Werner was poor.
Laporte got sent off at the weekend for a rugby tackle having also given the ball away in midfield for Palace's first goal.
You have gone back through about 40 league games to highlight 3 Dier errors leading to goals (2 pens).
As for Rashford's goal, you misread the whole situation.....Romero is out wide in the RB position, Royale is inside him and Dier is central, he's the left sided CB. It is Royales and Romeros job to cover that side and this typifies the attitude towards Dier in that people will judge that its his poor positioning when actually he's being dragged to the opposite side to try and fill a gap left by the right sided defenders. Not to mention the fact that Davies is playing Rashford onside and the FBs should be taking their position from the CB and be pushed up.
All players make mistakes and as highlighted, Romero has not been defensively perfect himself yet is rated as much better. He also is not blessed with pace either.
I stand by my view that Dier is not as bad as people make out and will benefit from Conte.

Am afraid after watching this team the over the years I have to disagree. There is a difference between ability and capability . Conte will surely have them hyped up and am hoping to see more energy and attacking intent but just because Conte wants them to play a certain way doesn't mean they are capable. Gil is not quite ready , Bergwijn hasnt done much since his arrival and Lucas blows hot and cold. When you look at the ready made attacking technincians some of our rivals at the top have we are not even close, Conte or not.
Our off the ball work has been one of my main bug bears for years and take Skipp and PEH off that team, barely anyone is capble of putting atackle in.
Am happy to be proved wrong but after watching the players week in week out you get to know what they are capabe off irrepective of the new manager. There are assumptions our demise has been poor coaching/tactics and it mostly down to Nuno and Mourinhos which is pure delusional. Our poor form even started when our messiah Poch was in charge.
Conte will soon find out to his cost if not backed.

Good interview with Conte. 2min 37 seconds in he is about to walk out of the players dressing room at the training ground. He then looks back. I wonder if he is thinking "Sembra una discoteca. Non mi piace questo."
Which translates to "That looks like a nightclub, I do not like it".

A good number of these players we in place when we came 2nd 3rd and UCL final. They are therefore capable but just not performing. Whether they can get back to their best selves is another question but all players will suffer under poor management/coaching but the reverse can also be true. The best managers get the very best out of players. Yes, Dier is not VVD and Lucas is not Salah but that is not to say that cannot contribute. Victor Moses & Batshuayi have title medals thanks to Conte.

Spurs fans, everthing is good now. You have a new manager/coach and that always works.
