I know there was a similar article the other day about what can we expect from Conte but I’m more interested in what Chelsea fans think of this appointment and their in put….which is why I’ve tagged this on their board
More than anyone they will know as they would have followed him more in the premier league previously
Me personally I’m getting a bit carried away about what we can expect as it’s our best appointment in my life time as a Spurs fan (Poch was great but he was quite underwhelming when appointed)
Yeah we had Jose but he was already nose diving after United
In Conte we have a top manager still at the top of his game
I’m expecting passion and drive and a challenge on 4th place …..a cup final would be good too
What does Conte bring…..

Expect Mourinho on coke, which is exactly what Conte is
The highs will actually be high. I can't say you'll bag a trophy or finish top 4 as a big factor in that is the strength of competition right now (JFDI's point), but you will improve instantly! Like within a month tops. Not a doubt in my mind.
But the hangover will be brutal/worse than Mourinho (which tbf you didn't really experience as you sacked him before it happened lol). There were instances in our 2nd year where he actively sabotaged us to make a point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1 nil defeat to Man City away. Worst performance I've ever seen and I've seen us ship 6 at Rotherham and 7 at Molineaux and Ayresome Park!
That was the point my opinion of him changed!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was defending him all season until that watershed moment of a game. The fastest 180 degree turn i have ever done in my life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've never seen apathy run through a team, starting at the manager, like that in my life. It was an absolute disgrace!

As a Gooner I'm afraid I have to agree, the man is brilliant - I think it's a great appointment, providing Levy doesn't f@ck it up again like he did with Pochettino.

Is this the most difficult job Conte has had in 15 years...without doubt...sadly he can only improve you...but you're still spurs

So glad I had to work that game seeing footage of it since. You gotta laugh
Even in the second season he had his moments. One of my favourite memories of a Chelsea manager was Conte losing himself laughing at the question Costa felt "treated like a criminal", tears and all

Conte is a great manager but in the same mould as Mourinho. They are managers who use a bunker mentality - everybody hates us - all out war. To be fair, they are usually quite successful but their disciplinarían ways burn teams out after a season and a half. Spurs have a problem with these types of coach - Mourinho and Nuni failed - Conte is more of the same.
It may be third time lucky for Spurs but I also think it could blow up in their faces. There has to be a change in culture at Spurs - maybe Conte is the man.

Blackpolespur, my take on Conte's appointment is that he is a very talented manager and will definitely make Spurs better than they are now (even with the existing players) and may even land you guys a trophy, but it is inevitably going to end badly at some point. The only question will be whether the trophies or the meltdown comes first. Him working with Levy is just a bad marriage IMO as they are polar opposites with their attitudes to flashing the Club's cash and sooner or later someone's default mentality is going to show out. Once it goes wrong Conte seems very vindictive about settling scores, like he did with us at the end. Maybe he will prove me wrong but only time will tell.
