The thing with Higgins is...

I understand the need for the role and understand what he brings to the table.

I have no issue with cameras and whatnot at games - I behave and follow the law so have no worries.

What I do have a problem with is the disproportionate treatment of Celtic fans compared to across the city with how celebrations of trebles v 1 league title was handled. You just need to see Rangers fans being escorted compared to Celtic fans being barricaded - he may not have been directly responsible (ok I know he wasnt) but the appointment of a senior Police Scotland officer is entirely the wrong approach.

What makes it worse is the senior officer who did a review of football policing going full in on the Celtic fans - again something supported by Higgins

Not as far as I've been led to believe, I was under the impression it was about security rather than a police liaison.

If that is the case then surely that was explained at the AGM?

Not appointing him seems a no-brainer to me, plenty of CVs out there that could fill that role with no controversy.

It depends. What is the need / skill remit from the board? Who were the alternatives? What are the unique qualities that Higgins might bring? I realise that posts are often compiled that suit only one person btw but he must bring something the board are keen to have.
