Proof:
Time at United:
Mourinho: 2.5 years
Ole: 3 years
Highest league position:
Mourinho: 2nd
Ole: 2nd
Highest point total:
Mourinho: 81
Ole: 74
Trophies:
Mourinho: Europa League and League cup
Ole: Nothing
So Mourinho delivered (objectively) more success in less time
I think it's clear to all who the best United manager post SAF has been.
Mourinho still the best post SAF manager.

WTF are you talking about you stupid priiick.
Klopp took 4 years to win the CL and 5 years to win the PL. Tuchel won the CL the just 4 months and after less than a year is top of the league.

So Tuchel hasn't won the league. Thanks for clarifying that.
Tuchel didn't have the nous to outwit Bayern and has never won the bundesliga. Tuchel only won the cup at Dortmund where Klopp won two league titles ahead of Bayern, the German Cup and led Dortmund to the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley in 2013. Klopp also won the DFL Supercup on two occasions.
Bayern's grip on Bundesliga has not been threatened since Klopp left Germany with Tuchel failing abysmally.

You're going back too far. In their current jobs Tuchel outclasses Klopp easily.

Yet you've referenced previously how it has taken Klopp years to win the league and CL, consider he was taking over at a team that were barely challenging for CL places and were consistently in the EL.
Tuchel has taken over from a team that were underperforming, but were still part of the top 4 from the season previous and are usually in the CL as well.
You can't really compare timescales on how long it has taken one manager to achieve the best trophies on offer when they have both started at completely different situations at their respective clubs, that's just silly.
To answer the OP, it depends what you class as success. For Man United, of course trophies are important but Ole did bring a sense of stability and consistency at the club (up until this point) that Mourinho didn't really bring. But I don't really see why it matters anyway. Ole was better than Jose in some aspects, whereas Jose was better than Ole in other aspects.

They kept Ole for too long - he undid a lot of the damage jose did in his final half season, but then inflicted similar damage this season. He was brought in to steady the ship for the next permanent manager, but their mistake was making him the next permanent manager.

Agree. It would have been best to have cut ties at the end of last season after the EL defeat and just move on. Respectable job, would have been a "harsh" sacking at the time, but sometimes you have to be ruthless.
The next mistake United could make is if they hire an interim manager in similar fashion to Ole, in terms of bringing them from somewhere else. Just stick with Carrick for the season and then look to appoint a permanent manager in the summer. If they ended up with Nuno for example and he does well, they may end up in a similar situation again.

It's clear United were onto a winner with Mourinho. Hope they realise their mistake and pull out all the stops to get him back.
