...is talking about?
If Leeds can manage to win today, the newly-found club up North, Newcastle United, would be 7 points adrift after no wins in 12.
Norwich have a new manager who has just won his first game, so could have an upturn in form.
Of course, Newcastle could be afforded the same new manager bounce soon. And with a January window looming, things could change dramatically, but the more I look at it, the more they look favourites for the drop.
Leeds look to have too much, surely Bielsa will keep them up again. I think so anyway. I think they have a fighting spirit and togetherness that will see them through.
Brentford also have the same characteristics as Leeds so I see them surviving.
I reckon Stevie G will do well at Villa. As their attack looks very strong with Watkins, Ings and Leon Bailey and the ‘keeper is strong also.
Watford have become the Slayers of Solskjaer and this will have given them confidence. Having Ranieri will give them good direction and style as the season goes on.
After that it’s Southampton, Leicester Palace, Tottenham and Everton so I’ll stop there.
So even if Newcastle go on a charge and overtake Norwich and Burnley they’re still down. They have a lot to do.
a positive from Watford that nobody...

I feel sorry for Ole on the whole, as he was always going to be the scapegoat for when things turned bad
……
There are too many reasons why I don’t feel sorry for Ole. Some of his player decisions have been wrong.
The only way he will get any sympathy from me is if Ronaldo was forced on him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He had some major flaws during his tenure here. Some that contributed to his downfall. But as we all know, Ole was only a part of the bigger problems here.
As for wanting Ronaldo, i feel Ole literally had little say in that. But at the end of the day, it's Ronaldo coming back.

Indeed we can’t complain on the Ronaldo one ( I know I do) when the vast majority of our fans were over the moon with it.

I was personally in two minds over having Ronaldo back. But he has shut me up with some of his crucial goals. But it does feel like it was in vain often (due to how poor we have been this season)

I was very happy to see Ronaldo back at ManU. Having spunked £73M on Sancho, it made no sense to sign him, despite making millions on shirt sales. I’ve yet to see him being the difference in that team now that he’s playing.
Long may he play for them, thus keeping young players with really good potential out of the team.

I know a Newcastle fan who is obsessed with United. Constantly posting stuff on social media laughing at our current predicament and you’re thinking you’re bottom of the league without a win pipe down.
One of the reasons I hope they go down.

Agree with this. Reminded me of Herrera, who I believe we have missed.
……
Another player Ole should not have let go if he wasn’t going to replace him with someone better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed - always liked Herrera. Big game player. Though I believe the "letting him go" part was out of Ole's hands and that the damage was done during contract negotiations a long time before he eventually departed.

That relegation battle is an interesting one.
Newcastle are in a holding pattern from now til jan 1 when we all presume the flood gates will open and a massive spending splurge will bring 6 or 7 new players in ASAP
Newcastle 6 points. next 9 games. Arsenal (woeful) Norwich (6 pointer), burnely (6 pointer) Leicester away, Liverpool away. Man city, Man utd, Everton, southampton. Thats up to jan 2.
Simply put they have to win those 6 pointers and scrape up a point or two along the way. 14 points imo would be an excellent retrun for them.
Norwich 8 points. wolves, newcaslte, spurs, man utd, villa, west ham. arsenal, palace, Leicester. thats not great is it? They can't afford to lose to newcastle but they shoul still eb 19th or 20th come january.
Burnely, Leeds and Watford AND bretford are going to fight for the final spot. villa are in a completely false position right now. wolves were there earlier and are now 6th.
villa next fixutres: Palace, Man city, Leicester, Liverpool, Norwich, Burnley, Cheslea, Leeds, Brentford. a Mixed bag where the should be targeting 12-15 points and that puts them in good stead to kick on in January

Good post moreinjured
Yes if Newcastle are in that battle for the final spot with those you mentioned, it’d make for an exciting final couple of months.
And we might have a genuine 3 horse race at the top.
I say we, I mean we can all watch it. . You’ll have the pleasure of competing I’m sure.
I’d be happy to settle for a CL trophy instead.

Yeah he’d been tapped up by PSG I reckon.
