Lowest point since relegation in mid '70 ?

Having sat through that 90 minutes of utter garbage, I really don't understand the mentality of our players. Back in the mid '70's ( which I am old enough to remember ) whilst our players lacked the quality to stay in the old 1st Division, one thing they did have was a willingness to at least try. Whilst they invariably lost to better teams, they put in a shift every game.

How any times have we heard the likes of Hoddle or Crouch telling us "this is the opportunity for some of these players to show the manager what they can do" and every time the same players fail miserably.

Winks, Doherty, Sanchez, Gill, Dier, Davies, Sessegnon, Rodon, Tanganga, Ndembele and of course Ali.

Of the others, they are only just not on this list, mainly due to past performances / reputation.

Seriously, where do Spurs go from here ?

We don't have a youth system like Arsenal for example, so nothing coming from there.
We don't have the money of City and Chelsea + a tight ar*e chairman who would not spend what is needed anyway. So nothing coming from there either.

And all of this decline is happening when West Ham of all clubs, are now playing at the level we were 4 years ago, with fans that are, frankly, loving every moment of this irony.

I for one am lost for words as to how a performance like that against a team ranked 357th in Europe actually happens.

I can't even get annoyed anymore.

Dele is unbelievable to me. Had everything going for him, and then his form dwindled enough for him to lose his England place and then eventually his Spurs place, but it feels like there is no urgency to want to get back there. Instead he wants to show us all his new haircuts.

He’s already a made man, financially.

It’s also the lack of continuity of the squad
E.g NDombele was bought with the need for him to be PL-ready straight away. Not given a season to replace someone else in that role.

This is a very good point.

The signs were there with Dele the season before Poch went. Should’ve been sold then.

It was fair to give him a chance under a different manager to see what he could do, but sadly nothing has changed....4 new managers later. A very tiny revival under Jose was about it.

I’m sure there are all sorts of strategies, continuity, legacy plans for the club as a business - land, brand etc

But on the playing side? Doubt there’s anything

Indeed but it’s up there with coke changing the recipe - you don’t fck with the core product.

Dier and Davies were good when they came on. Tanganga also did his job.
