After picking up another valuable point on Saturday, Wolves have a quick turnaround and host Burnley at Molineux on Wednesday.
Historically Wolves do not have a good record against Burnley having won only one of the previous 6 Premier League encounters (drawn 2, lost 3).
The last game, played at Molineux in April this year resulted on a 4-0 thrashing for the home side. Since that time Wolves have had a change in Head Coach and a change in playing style and as a result have picked up 17 points from their previous 8 games.
Burnley currently sit in 18th place in the table with just 9 points from their first 12 games, with their game on Sunday against Spurs being postponed due to weather.
Burnley have won just one league game this season which was a home game against Brentford.
Wolves have evolved into one of those ‘which Wolves are going to turn up’ type of teams. They could be the Wolves that beat West Ham or they could be the Wolves that lost to Crystal Palace. In the last game against Norwich they were more Crystal Palace than West Ham. Let’s hope for this game the side that played West Ham turns up.
Whatever happens they will be without Daniel Podence who is recovering from Covid-19 and Ruben Neves who will be serving a one match suspension for accumulating 5 yellow cards in the first 13 games of the season.
Burnley narrowly avoided relegation last season and although Sean Dyche is far and away the longest serving manager currently at a Premier League club having been there for over 9 years, unless there is a marked improvement in the team’s performances, it would be reasonable to suspect that he will not be in place much longer.
The game will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime
Gem’s prediction: 1-0

Do we have to ask when Hwang is going to start scoring more? He's scored 4 goals in 9 games.
Podence has 2 assists in just over 200 minutes this season.
Traore has 0 goals and 0 assists this season, yet wants to be our highest paid player.
Trincao gets criticised by people pretty much every time he plays. No one ever complains about him being singled out.

You say you haven’t singled out Traore, tam, but as far as I can see he’s the only player on this thread you’ve criticised.
Hwang has scored valuable goals and if he continues scoring 4 every 9 games then that’s a massive help.
If Podence continues getting an assist every 90 minutes then that’s great. Last season he also got two assists but from 1,661 minutes. Good player on his day, certainly, consistent player, certainly not for Wolves so far.
I have criticised Trincao in recent games but I’ve criticised others too. Don’t recall ever singling him out. What I have said is that I think he will become a very good player but probably not yet ready to be a regular in the team.
My main point is that as a team we are the third lowest scorers in the league, and that to me means there is a problem to solve.

Podence has two goals and two assists this season in 400 minutes. Traore won a free kick in 800 minutes.

Problem is that only Raul is a natural goal scorer.
I think Hwang could become one but the others I don't believe will.

We just don't have the players to change it up right now system wise. This isn't Brunos desire to play this way.

That’s my concern. I think each in their own way, Jimenez, Hwang, Podence, Traore, Neto, Trincao are all good players. But as a unit, this season and last, they just don’t score enough

Interesting observation. How does this square with them surely being "one of the best front lines in the division"?

If I criticise more than one player, you tell me I'm being negative and talk about how you don't like negative people. I really can't win.
FWIW, I have repeatedly said we need to improve the defence and midfield. I have criticised plenty of players this season (i.e. Kilman versus Brentford, Saiss several times etc). All when I think they have had key moments that impacted the match or were particularly poor.
Last night Traore had the key moment of the match. It was a moment that sums up his limitations. If he squares it to Jimenez, its likely 1-0 and we win. All of our other forwards would likely have squared it. As it is Traore made the wrong decision, went for the solo power route and remains on 0 goals and assists for the season. He therefore gets more attention, particularly as he is in a situation where a decision needs to be made on his future. I am sorry if you do not like that.

No need to apologise, I am nowhere near as sensitive as you about people having a different opinion. Yet again I find myself regretting trying to have a sensible debate with you
