Mo Salah

I personally think you’re greatest ever player. Up there with Gerrard, Daglish and all the other greats if not even better. I said this before and I’ll reiterate, I still don’t think he gets the respect he deserves amongst the Liverpool faithful. Nobody ranks him amongst the greatest Liverpool players of all time and I just don’t get it. He has won the huge trophies and was instrumental in this, so you can’t knock him for that. I think he’s gone up a level this season and some Liverpool fans are finally starting to recognise him, but prior to this season I thought he wasn’t respected anywhere as much as his performances and stats showed. For me, he’s better than Suarez that’s for sure. As good as Gerrard and up there among the greatest Liverpool players of all time if not, the best Liverpool player ever.

What Don seems to be missing is that Salah was missing loads and making wrong decisions regularly. That in itself was part of the reason why he wasn't being lauded as one of the best ever.

I preferred watching Suarez but hard to say he was better. Barnes, Rush and Gerrard are three that are comparable imo.

His stats were still outstanding, but that shouldn’t detract from the facts that you stated. It doesn’t make him under-appreciated at all.

I think your entirely correct Don.

He’s definitely up there within the best attackers in PL history.

At Liverpool only Suarez at his very best was better imo.

He’s well clear of Torres imo.

It’s actually interesting how now the wife forwards in football are scoring so much, as the traditional number 9 drops deeper to leave the space in behind for them. Sterling is a prime example of this.
But the productivity of salah, mane, sterling, mahrez, sane before he left, Neymar, mbappe and others is just phenomenal.

We’re seeing a change in the way football is played because of this.

The shift began well over a decade ago. Do the names Messi and Ronaldo not sound familiar to you?
