Yes, I know that Elneny isn’t up to it, but we’ve always known that, he’s a squad player who does his best but the fact that he’s starting shows the paucity of options Arsenal have in midfield. 👀
The real concern is Partey, he’s supposed to be the key player in midfield for this squad, I’ve given him a pass up until now as I hoped he was getting up to speed after his injury - but there is no excuse for this performance, he was bang average at best. 😐
Aubameyang is not even reaching the dizzy heights of bang average, can’t hold the ball up, can’t find any creative pass, can’t beat anybody and most importantly can’t even finish easy chances.😡 I don’t know what’s wrong with him but he has to be dropped - we can’t carry him in every game as we are having to do now. 😕

Auba really is becoming a problem, he’s not all to blame for this factor, but I really think a lot of the reason we always end up sitting back is because we have no striker who can hold the ball up, and link play back in. So we end up having the ball come straight back at us, therefore we just can’t get up the pitch. Add in also he’s not linking with other forwards in attack, and fluffs his lines 80% of time these days. If we had more clinical forwards today, we could have won. Even at 3-2 down we had decent chances to get something from the game. Auba has done some great things at this club, but a big priority has to be replacing him, or at least start to give someone else more of a chance up front.

Really poor result, as Henry said we should have looked for the 2nd and 3rd but instead we sat back and invited them onto us. Partey was poor from the get go, consistently giving the ball away and Aubameyang with his powderpuff shots and the strength of a feather. Shocking.

They let Elneny have the ball because they know he can't play the killer pass, he didn't do too much wrong but all he can do is just lay it off square or backwards, he is just not dominant in midfield - like I said, a squad player.
