Hard for club to defend itself and behaviour of fans when it's leadership behave in this way in public and some fans think its great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on Jonty. Mattyp would you be applauding if Radz had done this? If that's a yes, I'd be seriously worried about you – a significant number of our fans still act like morons and those same fans will now think this gives them licence to carry on. Youthful exuberance has its place in moderation but for a 40+ Director of the club to be seen to be as out of control as he was is unacceptable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm confused by your response.
You don't think I've defended him do you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry Mattyp, have I read you wrong?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, as you can see in my comments before this one I think his response is unacceptable for a director of the club and he needs to compose himself better when he is representing the club

The video is still there to be watched. The steward is clearly trying to diffuse the situation and acts as nothing more than a barrier to stop Orta from moving any further forwards and appears to be talking to him and even taps him on the belly a few times to try and calm him down. He isnt holding anybody. He's just giving him a cuddle and trying to calm him down.
There is no "holding" of anybody until he has retreated somewhat and then attempts to go back for more (assume more words were being shouted at him) Whoever he is talking to is out of shot and at least 15 metres away at this stage. Angus Kinnear finds the whole thing quite amusing.
Cant see anybody on this thread who has justified his actions - is someone else writing somewhere else? If not then stop making stuff up that simply isnt there.
There are two stances here -
1/ That he is in the wrong and there is zero sympathy to any of his actions despite not knowing what has been said or what is going on in Victors life right now.
2/ That he is in the wrong but as we do not know what has been said and we don't know what is going on in Victors life right now we show a little compassion. Nobody is perfect and we have all made mistakes in life.

You're trying to justify it. Completely downplaying what happened and coming up with ludicrous statements like:
"He's just giving him a cuddle"

No i have told you what i am doing.
Stop making things up. Stop being argumentative as per the normal. Please do not tell me what i am saying and i am doing.

Its a tough one for the Steward, don't think he went to work knowing that he'd come in contact with one off his bosses!..
It could be asked how many would hold their boss back if he/she had a blowout at work?..
Could he lose his job if his boss wasn't happy with him holding him back?..

* Steward did a good job
* Orta's behaviour was over the top. He's a member of senior management and thus is representing the club
* Questions should be asked as to what caused such a debate, home fan v away fan is fair enough, but we aren't in any turmoil, might have had something to do with going to Newcastle perhaps.
Not a big issue imo and will get forgotten about swiftly.

It might be when they were 2v1 in front and injury time one off their people said something and he was a little annoyed, and when Bamford made it 2v2 he told that person in his own polite little way to button it!..
But its been said a few times he gets a little heated when watching games!..

I made a comment, you said it was all wrong, only one person being argumentative.
You're downplaying it and saying stuff like steward just giving him a cuddle is laughable.

Actually all i said was "I’d rather know what was been said before making comment".
I have actually agreed with you through most of my comments but the initial spark was actioned by your good self sir - "I have the advantage of knowing whats acceptable behaviour in public and whats not". This is a condescending reply and suggestive that i am someone of a poor nature when you do not even know me from adam.
The only thing i have disagreed with you is the actual content of the video - you have your opinion which i respect - you feel strongly that he was held back. No problem that is your opinion. In my opinion he was not.
This does not give you the right to then start stating i am justifying it all (given i have already agreed several times his actions were not appropriate). You again sir are the one on the attack stating my opinions are ludicrous and laughable. Its all there to read back over!
This is forum and people have the right to have differing opinions. I respect that - do you?

Fair comment.
