It is fair to say you have to be very diligent or extremely lucky to nail a PS5. I have been looking for 3 friends for over a year, and although I have come close on a few occasions, was never quite quick enough to nail one down.
Thankfully two of my friends have managed to find themselves one, which leaves only one, who is wanting one for his son. I said I would keep looking, but with little luck.
This is where Simon comes in, In a different article he posted something about stock informer, an app that monitors stock, and lets you know when it arrives. Well I thought I would give it a go, and after a couple of near misses, finally managed to nab one after an alert yesterday.

I got mine recently. It’s not well advertised online but Game does an informal waiting list. Go to your local Game shop and ask to be put on PS5 waiting list, you leave your name and number. Next time they’re in stock they will call you to inform you, and you’ll have one PS5 reserved for you for the next 48 hours.
It’s kinda stress because if you miss the call they won’t try again and the PS5 reservation lost. But it worked for me in just a few weeks. I’ve tried stock checking alert/email/Twitter accounts for literally months and never quite worked out for me. You still need to get the stock check notification as soon as it comes out to stand a chance (if you see it 10 min ago you’re already too late) + has to be a time you have time to sit through a queue. Usually these stock check alerts come 8-10 am on week days when I’m at work

yeah i told a few people on here t use stock informer, thats how I got mine.
My sister has now picked up 5 in total all for friends using the app. You need to be on the ball though checking it every day and be ready to snap it up instantly.
Also forget about being picky and choosy there is normally only a cpl units available so you need to accept whatever bundle they have available.

I may have mentioned using an app, but I wasn't able to link a local one - let's call it a team effort!
But glad you were able to help your friend find one - they are a little difficult to find, and impossible if you just wait at your local Argos or what not, but if you are vigilant and use the tools and put in the leg work it's pretty easy.

Actually there are some now with BT. They have been there most the day. Probably most people don't realise they sell them, you also need their app.
