Lamptey would be a great buy assuming his injuries are behind him. I can't see a world where we sell Son, though. He just signed a big new contract, everyone loves him, sponsor money.. though I take your point. We need to trust in Conte and let him do what he wants.

Have needed a playmaker since Eriksen left, and probably even earlier because the last 6 months he wasn't great, our recruitment system is shocking

I think you're looking at it in a very 'Fifa' gameplay kind of way, both on this article and on others you've posted (no offence meant!).

We often pigeon hole players into 6's, 8's, 10's etc. I don't thin Conte will be looking at it this way. He'll be looking for the right characters, someone who he sees that he can make better, ala Moses. Take a look at his Chelsea 16/17 winning team and I doubt you'll be able to pigeon hole many players into typical 'Fifa' positions, and if you are, they certainly all wouldn't be near the best in the world in that position.
