Sky reporting he is being made available for loan
I'd take a punt. He may be "out of our league" but he would be perfect for us as a much needed goal scoring midfielder.
Appreciate his career has stalled, he does get injuries so I'm not saying no brainer
But there is a serious player in there, a good age, experienced.
Dele Alli

We should be signing someone that can make us better not gather dust on our bench.

He obviously hasn't got any guidance off the pitch which is a shame. We've had enough of him at Spurs. We use to sing his name, we even thought he'd be our Stevie G. Much of that respect's evaporated now. He needs that move.

Came to Spurs as a lad in 2015, joining a young team on the up with a young and positive coach. Shower no fear in making the jump from L1 to PL, and smashed it for 3 years as the best goalscoring MF in the league, helping Spurs reach 3rd, 2nd and 3rd and becoming a man England regular. Played in a team that pressed high up the pitch, with technical players like Eriksen, Dembele and Kane playing around the opposition to build up goals, his flick-on’s and movement in and around the box were really suited to that style of play.
But, after the pay rises and rise to fame he had some personal issues off the pitch, his form suffered and he has never regained it. This has been affected in no small part by a change in coaches, all of whom have set up to play counter attacking football which absolutely does not suit Dele’s game at all. He’s now a nowhere man, with no real role in the team and no chance of reestablishing himself. If he is even vaguely serious about his career a loan move would be the best thing for him; Leeds would be great, a coach like Bielsa could do wonders for him after 2 years of Jose and Nuno. There’s no doubt Newcastle will be sniffing around too. You also wonder whether Poch might fancy him for the French league. He’ll have options, he’s proven his ability at the highest level so there will be teams willing to take a chance on rediscovering the old Dele. Whether they do or not is another question, and even if they do that doesn’t mean he has a long term place at THFC. Personally I think he’s done at Spurs and needs to go for good.

Yeah, he needs a move.
Maybe if he's serious about football, then getting out of London and getting focused would be a good move for him. I would say Bielsa probably would even consider him, as he will only go for players with the right attitude.

Not for me. Wouldn't be interested.
Wages out of our league.
And too big a risk, especially in January. Could easily be another JKA signing.
Would prefer Swift from Reading. He's match fit, playing well, and much less of a financial risk.
Obviously if Alli was successful he would be a very very good player and has a much higher ceiling than Swift, but we can't really afford that level of risk right now.

One of the best pressers in the league.
If you could get a loan it would be a player especially suited to your style of football - who would provided a lot of needed goals.

I know there are some uneducated assumptions made on this thread about the player.
However, to adress Lubo's regarding his "energy and desire to fight". He sits in the 98th percentile for pressures, 96th for tackles, 93rd for interceptions & 99th for blocks. He also covered the most ground on the pitch the opening three matches he played.
He hasn't clicked offensively particularly - but that is mainly as he is a player who relies massively on service, his off the ball running is exceptional; but he is limited when being asked to create or keep the ball in tight spaces.
What you will get though, as I said above, is one of the best pressers in the league.

I just don't know how the finance if a January loan deal would work if I'm honest.
Spurs will won't his wage paying but if we were to sign him you could see it being easily a month (minimum) before he was making a difference.
That's a lot of money for a player you can't really use.
Think there is a player there, and I think there is one that if he was bielsa fit would slot into this team easily.
But just don't see how its a good deal for us

Deli Alli? Haven’t we thrown away enough money on players who don’ fit in?

As a Spurs fan I would say you can have him with pleasure, and not just as a loan signing. If I was a fan of a team looking to sign him I wouldn't want him. The guy has lost whatever he had and I don't believe he'll get it back. When he had it he was young and hungry and hadn't properly made it on the scene. Once he had that's when the slide began. Is a move away really going to re-motivate him to get back to being on the top of his game again? He lost his place in the England squad and he lost his first team place with us. If that couldn't do the job, why would a move to Leeds?
