Back in 2005 I met a girl from Hull, it wasn’t her fault.
Forest have only lost once in the last fifteen games. Fifteen! Had Cooper started the season we’d be on 44 points based on our current PPG. One point behind first-placed Fulham.
Over the last ten we are:
*3rd in the form table.
*4th joint most goals scored: 14
*4th joint least goals conceded: 9
That’s some impressive stats!
Hull have drawn the last two (Reading and Luton, before that winning 4 on the bounce (Barnsley, Cardiff, Birmingham and Millwall). Whilst not the most difficult of opposition they’ll be fired up to visit the WFCG!!
*Forest are W3 D2 L1 @ Home,
*Hull are W2 D1 L3 Away.
*Forest are unbeaten with 12 points.
*Hull are also unbeaten, with 14 points.
*Forest over the last ten are 1.7 PPG
*Hull are 1.4PPG.
Prediction: Forest 3 Hull 1

Remember when December always used to be terrible for Forest?
This season is different...

Not in 1977/78 it wasn’t

7 points out of the next 3 games is definitely do able. No Spence at Boro, so maybe only one game left for him with us if as expected Boro call him back. Hopefully we can get ANOTHER replacement in January.

Can we dare to hope?
Current squad seems capable of winning every game.
Great team spirit, must be a chance of promotion.

I don’t see why not.
You’d think EM might gamble a bit in this window, that Johnson and Worrall would stay for a promotion push, that the potential loss of Spence would be adequately addressed.
Hopefully any loss of fans (due to Covid) don’t have the same impact as last time, no major injuries and a little bit of luck here and there...and yeah, why not. Add in Team Spirit (as you said) and it’s looking promising.
If all goes wrong we sell Johnson and / or Worrall and we go again.
Nothing major in the transfer window...a forward, LWB / RWB and maybe a winger if we’re lucky.
Merry Christmas everyone

I wonder if Cooper is playing Yates at fullback because Worrall is going in January, there is no more room for loans unless Spence gets recalled.

With the loans, i think it is a maximum of 5 in a match-day squad, but you can loan up to 8? So, we could loan more if needed.
With Yates at CB, he is an improvement on Figs. I think that’s all there is to it. I don’t expect Figs to get his place back.
If you look at our squad we have 5 players on loan and 5/6 players out of contract at the end of the season. Add in academy salaries and you wouldn’t have thought our wage bill was particularly high for 22/23. Add in the sale of Johnson / Worrall and you’d say we could gamble and not do a Derby.

Strange how watching on full match replay on Forest TV, which has no commentary, feels disappointing.
Radio Nottingham said Forest were great for the first 30 minutes, but it was mainly passing back and forth around the back, nothing down the middle and no shots on target.
Grabban hooked wide from the best chance, BJ missed the far post after a wonderful 1-2 with Spence, but we went one down.
Second half was impressive though - looked like a penalty to me and we should have had one moments earlier, superb work from Grabban and Johnson for the winner. Bit of a siege at the end, but held out.
That wasn't the performance of a title-winning side, but they did enough against decent opposition to win. So we might make the playoffs, or even sneak automatic promotion if Cooper can inspire even better results.

I watched the full match replay as well, I thought we played some wonderful one touch football in the first half and Hull were under the cosh. We just didn't score.
I was surprised by the strong arm tactics that they got away with, some times under the nose of the ref'!
It was also nice to see Carvalho get half an hour off the bench. Brilliant goal by B.J must retain him and offer a new contract that his dad will agree to imo.
