Joao Cancelo has revealed how he was attacked during a robbery at his home as he tried to protect his family.
The Manchester City footballer said he was “assaulted by four cowards" on Thursday.
Cancelo, 27, posted a picture on social media revealing a nasty gash above a bruised right eye that the player implied he received as he tried to fend off the thugs.
The City defender was at home at the time with his partner Daniela Machado and two-year-old daughter, Alicia. Cancelo said the intruders escaped with all of his jewellery.
I didn’t know Manchester is that awful than Liverpool when it comes to crime. Wish him and his family the best.

Thats the thing about crime stats most of them are per capita.
Not sure why the op threw digs at Manchester and Liverpool. Sad to say all cities have this type of crime and just to be clear criminals do travel.
I hope Cancello and his family are ok.

Per capita has its own implications but doesn't really come into the human aspect of it IMO. Fact is you're more likely to be a victim of crime if you are in Manchester as compared to when you are in Liverpool and even more likely if you're in London. You, you're friends and family and property are safer, statistically or otherwise, in Liverpool than Manchester and even less safe in London.
